Crickhowell Powys

Cromer.

NetballHoop · 27/03/2018 19:38

Ottery St Mary

But only because I like the name and the episode of Cabin Pressure. I've no idea if it's nice in real life.

We're n the outskirts of London and happy...

What do you want/need out of your new location?

Hathersage in the Peak District

I want a village that has easy access to a town, good schools and preferably not too far from a good college and university. I'm not asking for much Grin

Durham

I just want to go back to London.

But failing that, I'm very, very drawn to Tenby. It's just such a long way away from anywhere; that's the problem with it. It is absolutely beautiful and perfect, though.

Tynemouth

Mammyloveswine · 27/03/2018 21:52

NancyJoan · 27/03/2018 21:54

London, really, but also Cambridge or Bath.

FreshTart · 27/03/2018 21:54

Gower, South Wales

MiniTheMinx · 27/03/2018 21:57

Petworth, little Bignor or Amberly. All rural West Sussex. I can't live without hedges! Plus I have family in Petworth, so it already feels a bit like home.

Do you include university because you would be looking for employment there? If not, I wouldn't be worrying about that for your children as most want to go further afield for university.

Cambridge is very small, and very boring. It's like a little island in the middle of absolutely nowhere. It's got some lovely buildings, but once you've seen them, you've seen them. It's also incredibly unfriendly. You can't walk around without being very, very aware of all the millions of cyclists - don't ever step to the side without looking behind you. The property is horribly expensive, and it's a very difficult place to drive around, because it's so congested. (It does have one of the most fantastic open-air swimming pools in the entire country, but that's about the only good thing about it.)

Reigate in Surrey. Small town with a village feel, yet great transport links & close to London & countryside. Excellent education on all levels. Best of all worlds.

AClearShotOfTheStreet · 28/03/2018 00:06

Petersham.

duriandurian · 28/03/2018 06:28

Alfriston, East Sussex

Pittapatter · 28/03/2018 06:31

Boscastle, Cornwall. Fabulous place

Undercoverbanana · 28/03/2018 06:44

Sheffield.

flumpybear · 28/03/2018 07:08

West bridgford in Nottingham has all the requirements! Albeit it's a small satellite town rather than a village lol 😆

MrsJoshDun · 28/03/2018 07:12

Sheffield. Maybe Froggett.

Redlocks28 · 28/03/2018 07:15

Bourton on the water. Without all the tourists (like me!)

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 28/03/2018 07:27

Lake District, Keswick maybe.

Or Edale in the Peak District.

Neither accessible for much really which is one of the many reasons we remain on the south coast but one day maybe.......
