I want a village that has easy access to a town, good schools and preferably not too far from a good college and university

Bishopston in the Gower, S Wales. Ten minutes into central Swansea but a lovely little village...and the secondary is one of the best in the UK.

Falmouth.

Edale or Castleton in the Peak District.

In fact I have been looking on Rightmove, and dreaming, all evening!!

Somewhere near Lancaster.

Good uni and Liverpool and Manchester not too far.

Sea and mountains not far.

Good secondary schools.

You coukd find villages about 4-6 miles from Lancaster and have everything you need.

NEW FOREST.....
Beautiful landscape
Good mix of towns and villages
Near the coast
Very low crime
Boarders wonderful Dorset
Excellent schools and hospitals
It’s just over an hour into London

Quorn, Leicestershire.

My brother lived there for a while, I love it.

Lost look around Penistone, Denby Dale and Holmfirth. Also Hebden Bridge and Todmorden, albeit prone to flooding in places and I have no knowledge of the schools. Also villages around Otley, Ilkley, Wetherby, Harrogate, but be prepared that “north” does not always mean “cheap”.

Great big villa in Holland Park. Or mansion flat within walking distance of the west end of London. Portland Place maybe.

Another vote for Lewes in East Sussex. Lovely little town with lots of history, and a nice assortment of shops and restaurants without being overly commercialised. Good transport links (can be in central London in about an hour) and good schools and two Universities 10 mins away on the train. Plus Bonfire night in Lewes is AMAZING, but the town is very much pushing to be for 'locals only' event.

London

Peak District, Vale of Belvoir, or the Cotswolds. I've lived in both of the first two and have lots of friends in the Cotswolds. Depends on your budget really! The Vale is best for university links and foodies, Peaks are the most affordable and Cotswolds the best for London links

Torbay.

I'm American. For me it's Edinburgh, first, last, and always.
