What is better: a removal company local to your current house, or one local to your new house?

Just trying to work out if it is better, all else being equal, to use a removal company that is local to my current house, or to use one local to the house I'll be moving to, which is quite some distance away? Or perhaps it doesn't make any difference at all? Any tips appreciated. Thanks :)

Use one local to you because they will want to come round and have a look/assess the cost/vehicles needed etc. I can't see a firm willing to make a long drive for a potential customer. I have only ever used firms local to me anyway, and one move was across the country.
