Asbestos Floor Tiles - how to cover and seal

We have asbestos floor tiles stuck on with bitumen. Yay 1960s houses!

They are currently under carpet. We want to replace carpet and underlay as they are a bit stringy, flat and old. When you walk on the carpet you can feel some gaps where it seems like the tiles underneath are probably broken.

Had one recommendation, which was not to replace underlay, meaning they'll be not disturbed, but it really is shoddy. Not going to try and pull them up.

Ideally I'd like someone to somehow seal them and then replace carpet and underlay, has anyone ever heard of this sort of service? Is it a specialist asbestos people thing? Carpet company thing?

TIA.

You will need a specialist to remove it. The cost of this is quite high.

Alternatively you could lay carpet on top of carpet. Not ideal but can work.

Thanks for your reply. I don't really want to remove it as I've been told the bitumen is near possible to remove, and would disturb the asbestos tiles hence wanting to seal it in some way...
