Talk to me about Walkden, Pendlebury, Worsley etc.

Thinking of moving to somewhere in the area show on the map pic attached. We could afford to buy something nice in Walkden or could stretch our budget for other areas. Anywhere here would make DP's commute to Salford Central easy. We have a 7mo DD and I dont have a job currently so no ties.

Are these areas nice? Good schools etc? Things to do? What's the traffic like? Crime rates look okay. We currently live in Warrington and like it but would prefer to be closer to Manchester city centre.

Probably looking to move in 18 months or so. Budget up to £230/240k but ideally more around the 200 mark.

Also ideally large 3 bed or 4 bed!

I had some relatives who moved to the A6, Manchester Road...thought it would be horrible on the main road but their house was kind of elevated so very private and a bit cut off from the traffic. Think it was somewhere here:

Think it was closer to 300k too but that was a lovely house. Can't really offer much more than that but kind of wanted to bump your thread too since I am interested.
