Woodchip wall paper Mmmm- what colour shall we go....

I HATE the wood chip wall paper we have. Its frustrating that I am not in. Position to get rid of it. The seperating walls are plasterboard / stud walls and we have been advised twice if we start a getting the woodchip off we are likely looking at new plasterboard or at least a big plastering job.
Therefore OH reluctant to start fiddling (we will be renting this out next year).

Those who have been in similar situations and decided to keep it up what colours have you painted the walls? At the moment they are yellowy-beige but in need of a new coat.

I have woodchip on my walls. I’d love to get rid of it but it’s an old house and I think the woodchip is basically holding up the walls. I can’t afford to get every room replastered, which I’m pretty sure is what it would need, if we took off the wallpaper.

Anyway, we have yellow, blue, lilac and white walls in our house.
