Can I fit a shower in (easily) in this bathroom

The bathroom is 1.7 by 2.9

The toilet has to go top left on window wall

& I want a large bath (1800 by 800 - I have a big bum)

DH would like a separate shower - but I can't make it fit - can anyone help?

looking at measurements should be doable
but all depends where your toilet outlet is at the moment as they are not so easy to move

I know - the toilet is on the window wall in the top left corner

The only place your bath can go is east west from top right corner.
Shower can go bottom left.
Although loo has to go top left, consider placing it 90* to that you are facing along long wall

Currently it is 90 degrees (on the left hand wall) but in order to get enough drop it's been placed on a 4 inch high plinth.....well stupidly a 4 inch high tower so my feet don't reach the floor!

To return to normal height it needs to back on to the window wall (apparently) ar I need to nock a bigger hole in the wall very close to the floor

You have positively acres of room.

I would install the bath along the window wall over to the right, then use a corner WC in the top left corner (being a corner design you get to face the centre of the room rather than having your knees point towards the bath or the shower) - and a corner quadrant or pentagon shower in the bottom left corner. Loads of room.

Could you have your door opening out onto the hall/landing? Given the size of bath you want there is only one place it can go, along the window wall. If you but the toilet cistern on the left hand wall and shower in the lower left corner would there be enough space to pass between the corner of the shower & bath to the toilet? A quadrant shower 1000x700 might work.

We have a very snug (small) bathroom with both a bath & shower but very little floor space. If it was my bathroom I would go for a slightly smaller bath along the right hand wall with more floor space in the centre of the room.

I have a smaller bath & while by no means enormous The water in front of me & the water behind don't meet and I can't have my elbows beside me in the bath - I wonder if somehow it's unbelieveably narrow? (1700 by 700)

I don't think the door could open out because of the stairs - but a bifold might work if it helps

Pocket doors?

Could he be persuaded that a really generous shower bath would suit you both much better without having to cram anything into tight corners?

we had the same issue wih the door so built a pocket door above the stairs and angled the base to suit the origional - takes up 10cms of space above the stairs.

Could a shower go between the bath and the bottom right corner the space would be about 900 by 700 with the door on the 900?

Not sure a pocket door would help - I just wish it was somewhere else

You probably could squeeze a shower in there but would your door be opening into the glass? Ours does and it sets my nerves on edge when the kids fling the door open.

You can always rehang the door so that it opens in to the room the other way.
We did that with a tiny bathroom and it made a lot of difference

Have you been to bath store? Take this drawing to them and they'll auto-cad this into their system and give you a birds eye and a 3D picture from any angle. No obligation to buy from them either.

Loo top left either corner or on outside wall, bath top right,
Shower bottom left nice big walk-in, low profile tray one,
Sink bottom right on either right hand or bottom wall
Re-hang door so that is hinges on left or do bi-fold hung on left. So that you can whizz in to use the sink without having to manoeuvre the door to get to it quickly.

The only thing to ask your plumber is would your shower also need to be on a plinth to get the necessary fall to the outside wall?

Other tip: we have a Bette bath of those dimensions and it's fab. Don't get plastic.

Are all Bette baths steel? If so there is a round ended showery type one I think - which would be better if it isn't too expensive

I think 900 by 700 is fine for a shower!

The Bette ocean bath comes in many sizes, the internal measurements are generous because the edge or rim is slim ensuring a good water capacity, hope that makes sense. I don't think your measurements are small but I will check the dimensions.

To offer a different opinion - we pulled out an almost new Bette bath two years ago because the internal dimensions were so appallingly small in the newly renovated house we bought! We've now got a Bathstore Pool one in the same space because they are so square inside it's maxed out a not huge bath. I know it's plastic which doesn't bother me, but actually it turns out it's much more lovely and warm to lie against than the Bette one - hadn't expected that.

I looked for the Pool one be a use I installed the 1800 x 800 in my previous flat. Couldn't fit in a separate shower and it was fine - so big and square inside it was like standing in a shower tray with sides. (And bloomin amazing for baths, like a mini swimming pool - I miss it!)
