that somebody with a critical but not a vicious eye would come to my house and tell me exactly what to spend a thousand pounds on.

I look at my house and see hundreds of little jobs and then I feel tired wondering where to start.

Where do you live? Are you in Surrey/Berks/Hamps way. I’m half way thru a BA interior design course and (and have an unhealthy obsession with decluttering and organising). I used to be an engineer. I help the local Estate Agent make houses ‘more sellable’ on the side. All my houses past and now do look like a show home inside and outside, albeit with my style.

I Marie Kondo-ed about two years ago and I really did a fantastic job, I got a skip too. It looked a bit too stark. Now I've got personal touches about the place, like my little sculptures and mosaics and jigsaws the kids have done on the wall, but it is looking so tired and shabby but nothing is absolutely disgusting. It's so hard to know where to start. I want to get a big job done in about a year but I'd love somebody to tell me 'ok the ugliest thing is definitely that - start there!'.

If you're in Dublin come in for a cup of tea. Or failing that, can I send you photos?! I'd prefer a professional stranger's opinion to a friend's opinion! Even if my friends all have nicer houses.
