Ways to mark your house as yours from the road?

My house is not visible from the road and our driveway looks a bit like communal parking -which is not but that's another thread . Because we need to keep the access clear for parking it's hard to have a decent house sign near the road to mark it.
I always say "look for the house with the people carrier on the driveway.

Having always been a SAHM I am just about to start a WOHM and so actually for delivery folk etc the car won't always be there any more.

A flag is a a bit "Brexit" but I'm thinking something like permanent balloons for a birthday party Grin

Does such a thing exist?

If you have space to put a flagpole or balloons then you probably have space to put a post and house name in. That would be much better for couriers etc.

This kind of thing.

We have our house name popping out of a hedge on top of a wall.

Big log stood on end with the top cut off at an angle and your house number on. I'll see if I can find a pic...

if your house has a number, you can surely put up one or more signs with the number on. Add an arrow if you wish. If you have no fenceposts or gateposts, put in a post for it.

In parts of Australia it is usual to paint the number on the curb, facing out. But this only works if people are expecting it.

Paint the number on your bins, as well. Non-drip gloss (oil based) adheres well to plastic.

Google solar house numbers.

We have a big chunk of tree (from the trunk of a huge one we cut down) with really big steel numbers on it at the roadside / end of the drive. No point in having numbers on your house round here as our drives are too long and because people tend to whizz past we have huge numbers - some people still whizz past but at least they see us eventually when they turn round and realise they've gone too far.

My house doesn't have a number - I wish it did (costs £800 ish to change the name)
AM not averse to lions Grin but they would be too small to be seen as only a pedestrian gate Grin

No suggestions, but you definitely need to make it visible for Emergency Services to be able to find it!
