Best clear coat for painted furniture?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a clear coat? It’s for an old painted shelf that is potentially lead paint. I would like it to be non-yellowing, not too shiny and available in quite a small volume- not too fussed if it’s spray or brush on. Thanks!

Ps. Low VOC would be a bonus.

I find the rustoelum range very good, they have a clear one: www.homebase.co.uk/rust-oleum-matt-spray-paint-crystal-clear-400ml_p598217
