Looking for holy grail; a thing like an aga but with gas hob

I'm looking for a range type cooker and do love the idea of an aga warming our freezing kitchen, but I've had one before and can't be doing with not having a quick hob; I realise that Everhot do a similar thing with an induction hob but DH insists it's got to be gas because he has a closed mind
Does an aga type thing, ie cooking on gas and also warming the room, exist?

Oh, btw I know that Aga do add-on things with a gas hob but I'm not prepared to pay the best part of £20k. That would buy a lot of gin.

My DH is the same re gas. I don’t think he realises that induction hobs have come a long way in the last 10 years.

Redfyre make one (but it's big): Redfyre Universal Range Cooker

Pasithea · 02/02/2018 11:37

You can get a small aga with a gas hob.

Doublechocolatetiffin · 02/02/2018 12:26

Take your DH to a showroom and test out induction. It’s better than gas in my opinion - just as responsive and so much easier to clean. Then buy an Everhot - you will not regret it. They are brilliant

Hi, I have a Falcon range. It’s a brand made by Aga. It’s an electric oven (two ovens actually, one fan and one conventional) and a gas hob. Hopefully my picture is attached. It has 4 burners and a french plate. The plate is like an aga plate, it’s hotter in the middle than the sides so can be multi use. We love it. From a dim and distant memory I think it was about £3k so miles cheaper than an aga. Also comes in the same range of colours as Aga and they do a version with induction hob. We get loads of power cuts so went with gas job.

Induction is much safer than gas.

MammaAgata · 02/02/2018 12:32

Sorry, just reread your OP. This does not heat the room sadly. Sorry

ShowMeTheElf · 02/02/2018 12:36

You want a range which stays hot/radiates heat and to run pipes containing flammable gas across/through it to a hob? Is that right?

Erm, there's a reason no-one makes these.

mumblechum0 · 02/02/2018 12:52

Ah, put it that way Showme....

I'm liking the look of the Everhot and the Falcon. May drag DH along to a demo of the Everhot induction hob in action.

Thanks you lovely lot x

Everhot are great, my mum has one and she loves it x

parkview094 · 02/02/2018 13:29

"Erm, there's a reason no-one makes these."

...but they do. Redfyre make one?

parkview094 · 02/02/2018 13:35

Redfyre also have an induction (electric) range that has a radiant heat option. The advantage over the Everhot is that the radiant heat function can be turned off in the summer if desired. (Not sure if the Everhot supports that?)

Check out the Redfyre Electric Radiant.

(No I don't work for Redfyre - I just went through a similar debate previously)

privatewedding · 02/02/2018 13:46

Falcons are no longer made by Aga - they sold out to Range Master. Range Master no longer support the old Falcons for repairs or parts as they have changed the construction. Agree that the old falcons were excellent, no idea if the new ones are as substantial or long lasting but customer service from Range Master is not like Aga.

Airfixkitwidow · 02/02/2018 13:56

An everhot is your solution. No gas but a top quality induction hob which is far more responsive than gas. It also has a standard aga type hob which means you use induction to bring food to temperature and then move over to the other hob to simmer. Or put the pan in the bottom oven to simmer. It's the best purchase we ever made and has the advantage that if we move it will move with us.

mumblechum0 · 02/02/2018 14:50

Thanks all. My mate has an Everhot and has kindly agreed that next time we go for dinner there she will subtly chat DH into buying one Grin

Ooh ooh! I saw Parkview's post and went hunting.

Redfyre used to make them but when AGA bought them out they were discontinued. I've found you an ex-demo, but it is possibly the very last one in the UK.

MayFayner · 02/02/2018 15:26

De-lurking to say I've just looked at the Everhot website and I'm so jealous Envy

bilbodog · 02/02/2018 15:37

Ive got an aga and the hot plate heats up things very quickly - did you have an old or solid furl one? You might find the newer ones work really well.

mumblechum0 · 02/02/2018 16:43

Ah, thanks May but that's too wide. Lovely though!
