Ideally would like wardobes around 50cm deep. Wanted pax but too big!

Bit of a mouthful.

I'd got my heart set on pax wardobes for the master bedroom. But had a measure up and they will be too deep. There will be no room for bedside cabinets.

I know they do a shallow version. But I'm not convinced that with the amount of crap I've got, they will be practical. I need to hide everything in there and room is quite small.

I'm on a tight budget. Has anyone got shallower but cheap wardobes that they would recommend? I've also got to order and fit within a 5 week time frame as I'm moving in with my girls then.

Try Argos eg Malibu or Kensington, both 50cm, for v budget options. We fitted Malibu in our tiny bedroom. You only get what you pay for and I think Ikea is better value TBH but sometimes it's just what fits in the space. Malibu in particular is not very robust if you need to heft it round the room, but we "built it in" by bolting it to the wall, and it felt solid enough.

The Ikea kids range is 50cm deep. Stuva?

I have shallow Pax in two bedrooms with three wire drawers in the bottom and shelves up top. The amount they hold is phenomenal.

I recommend using the soft boxes with a zip in the bottom for t-shirts etc on the shelves, or they can get a bit messy and they're no good for hanging.

We're moving soon and not taking them with us. I'm going to be lost without them!

This is the one I tidied this morning with no drawers. The rest are too messy to let you see in!

We have wardrobes from Very which are 52cm deep for the same reason as you.

You can get rid of the bedside cabinet, put a wall light on to the wall and a small floating shelf, it really makes the place look bigger.

I went with pax and hot super narrow bedside cabinets ...

In my youngest room we have two kallax box storage units fixed to wall with a hanging rail between and a cut to size shelf above the hanging rail between the two for extra storage on top.

The boxes in the kallax give oodles of storage and the whole thing looks neat and purpose built with the advantage of being only 42cm deep.

Ultimately, I may hang a curtain in front of the hanging rail but right now DD is 7 and I think she may pull it down.

I need the bedside cabinet. I'm a type 1 diabetic and need the space to hold all my paraphernalia. But I hadn't considered a v small option.

The room is 285cm across so would be awkward in terms of sliding doors 200cm (I don't think big enough) or 250cm but hinged doors. But these would need more depth to be able to open them.
Also, the ceilings are low!

I've got the shallow Pax and they hold a surprising amount. I've got a mix of shelves, some with soft boxes, the wire drawers and shoe shelves. I've also got one of the pull out hanging rails, which doesn't hold that much (around 20 of the wooden hangers) but it suits me as most of my clothes are folded.

My bedroom is too small to fit in bedside cabinets so I bought this headboard, it has loads of space for storage.

If you've low ceilings you could fit tracks floor and ceiling for sliding doors. Ikea do sliding fabric panels and lightweight tracks that may be an easier cut to fit diy option.

We have the Ikea Stuva wardrobes for the same reason as you, OP. I like the fact that they are quite customizable as you can fit shelves or basket-type drawers inside. We're really pleased with them.

Came on to say Kallax with hanging rail too!

Alex tall drawers are fab for underwear/socks/tights/vest tops/t shirts. If you fold/roll you can fit loads in! (The tall Alex are slightly shallower than the short version so may fit your 50cm requirement

All this maybe beyond my terrible DIY skills though...

We used the Besta range which is for home entertainment in my daughters recess which has sliding doors on the front. They also didn’t have the required depth for pax
