I love it. It would be for me and 3 dc plus my mum.

Tell me what's wrong with it before I get over excited Grin

Great on space and room sizes, love the bag windows. Not sure on your children’s age, would they miss a garden? Although you could have some nice garden furniture and bbq in the courtyard and make it look pretty.

Neolara · 14/01/2018 21:20

Bloody hell. I can't believe what good value that is. A similar house around here would cost £1.5 million. Seriously.

That might not be what you want to hear!

Somelikeitchilly · 14/01/2018 21:22

The garden isn’t great, but you could dig up the paving slabs if you don’t like them. Otherwise, It looks a great house. You’d have a lot to do in terms of decorating!

MessySurfaces · 14/01/2018 21:22

Who gets bedroom one with the dressing room??? Heh
Looks lovely. I'm a Londoner so the price makes me weep.
What happens if stairs become an issue for your mum?

Mary1935 · 14/01/2018 21:23

Yes looks good to me - do you already know the area? I'm in London but originally from the North west - the price difference is astonishing.
Good luck.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 14/01/2018 21:24

The house is gorgeous but it wouldn’t be for me as there is no garden.

NotMeNoNo · 14/01/2018 21:24

It looks lovely. Is the road busy / noisy, /full of B&B's? Does lack of garden matter or is that a daft question when the beach is so near!

PurpleWithRed · 14/01/2018 21:25

Flaming Nora, 5 bedrooms for £265k

If I were to nitpick I would say b-all garden and all that stuff at the back of the kitchen looks a bit of a shambles but otherwise it's amazing.

Lovelilies · 14/01/2018 21:25

They're 18m, 4 and 12 yo with Asperger's who would really benefit from having more space to escape the noise and chaos of the little ones.

DM is late 70s.

The garden is quite small, but the beach and parks are within spitting distance.

Just hope we can scrape the ££ together.

£1.5m Shock I guess we're lucky up North!

Lots of decorating but worth it for the room sizes. You could change the configuration at the back - looks a bit bitty with the kitchen, boot room, utility. Not sure why you’d need a boot room as there doesn’t appear to be a muddy garden and you could use the garage if you were going on muddy walks.

hattiehollow · 14/01/2018 21:27

It’s a beautiful (and huge!) house! I love the generous entrance hall and particularly like that it hasn’t, in general, been overly modernised. But I don’t know Filey, or even Lancashire and how the location or price fits. It’s been on the market since May which would be a very long time by London standards (though equally the price is very attractive to a Londoner!)
Negatives - horrible UPvC front door and out of character plastic windows (I would definitely be wanting to change these), small garden in proportion to size of house, and possibly quite a busy road by the look of things.

AppleAndBlackberry · 14/01/2018 21:27

No garden? Otherwise looks lovely and quirky, if a bit dated.

Oblomov18 · 14/01/2018 21:27

Jesus Christ. It looks fabulous. What's stopping you?

wheresthel1ght · 14/01/2018 21:28

It's beautiful!

I would assume the price is lower than I would expect for that area because if the lack of garden and the fact it needs redecorating and carpets looking at the pictures.

I would also want someone to check out the flat roof as that may be a potential issue.

That aside get excites op!

A580Hojas · 14/01/2018 21:28

Really hard to say because I know nothing about Filey or West Yorkshire. Infact, I'm not sure I've ever been to W Yorks.

Tell us what is it you like about it so much!

Ultimately I would be put off by the lack of garden but if a house with a garden in the same area costs an extra £50,000 then I might re-think my ideas.

Lovelilies · 14/01/2018 21:28

The boot room/hobby room etc could maybe be made into a nice bedroom for DM as she gets older and if she can't manage the stairs.

We need to sell both our houses first (not on the market yet) so keep your fingers crossed for us!

Fit as fuck! Buy it!

bastardkitty · 14/01/2018 21:31

It's bloody lovely. You already know what the drawbacks are. What an amazing place to live. Hope you go for it.

Hellothereitsme · 14/01/2018 21:32

Gorgeous. If you have a park nearby I can’t see the problem with the garden.

everybodylovesabosom · 14/01/2018 21:33

But I don’t know Filey, or even Lancashire

Wash yer mouth out Hattie Shock

Lovely house OP. I'd say if it's close enough to beach/parks etc where kids can roam free that you could use the garden as more of an outdoor room. Comfy seating, sun shade, outdoor kitchen, children's play area etc. I think you could live in the house and improve over time if funds are tight in the beginning. Would you be happy on a busy road?

bastardkitty · 14/01/2018 21:35

If stairs became an issue you could put your mum on the ground floor and make an upstairs reception room.

bastardkitty · 14/01/2018 21:37

Oh you're aleady there. Lol at Lancashire...

ForgivenessIsDivine · 14/01/2018 21:41

Loads of Yorkshire houses don't have gardens. Beach in Filey is lovely!! The house is amazing.

Enidthecat · 14/01/2018 21:42

It's lovely. I'd buy it and I have a small dc. Who needs a big garden when you live near the coast!

YolandiFuckinVisser · 14/01/2018 21:42

Yes! I don't like the decor or the garden much but the house is amazing! I would LOVE to live in Filey.
