Tell me what's wrong with it before I get over excited Grin

Yes! Great beach at Filey-went there when dc1 was 6 months old & I went looking for fossils & found a lovely big ammonite! Mil was agog!

Great house & lovely spot to live 😃

SnowiestMountain · 14/01/2018 21:47

Its absolutely lovely, and huge!

I'd go for it as long as you're fine with the garden.

blinkineckmum · 14/01/2018 21:47

I would.

Lovelilies · 14/01/2018 21:50

The road isn't too 'busy', it's a small town and it's not the main road.

Lancashire? West Yorkshire??
'Tis in North Yorkshire Gods own country

Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed we can get it.

Thank you for all the lovely comments!

Go for it! I'm up' road in Whitby. Best part of the country imo. Wink

hattiehollow · 14/01/2018 22:24

But I don’t know Filey, or even Lancashire

Oops, sorry I thought Filey was near Blackpool but it seems I was thinking of Formby Blush
I stand corrected - my apologies to anyone I’ve offended! What do us Londoners know about the rest of the country eh?

hattiehollow · 14/01/2018 22:25

[ I have never been to Filey OR Formby! ]

AntiHop · 14/01/2018 22:28

A boot room! As a Londoner where every square centimeter counts, that's such an amazing concept.

KathyBeale · 14/01/2018 22:29

Another Londoner here, agog at the idea of a hobby room. Buy the house!

Awks · 14/01/2018 22:30

Lovely house - and nowhere in Filey is that busy so fingers crossed yours sell and you can buy it! I'm just along the road too in scarbs.

GreenTulips · 14/01/2018 22:30

Only downside is nearest senior school are rated as 4's

Do you know them already?

Ragusa · 14/01/2018 22:38

It's huge! I can see why you'd consider it.

It looks to me like some rewiring may be needed. Notice the extension cable feeding the appliances in the utility. Rewiring is messy and requires replastering afterwards, often.

Rads are old and may need replacing. Boiler likewise if same age.

I'd allow maybe £15000 for redecoration and works. Ditto what someone else said about thd flat roof too.

BackforGood · 14/01/2018 22:39

Looks lovely.
So spacious.
I actually think having a lot of paving when dc are quite small is better than grass, as they can be out in graden however wet the ground it much better when at the peddalling trikes / learning to ride bike / learning to 'scoot' / learning to roller skate / playing with a sand tray / type stage / age.
Fingers crossed - so difficult when you've got to sell 2 houses though.

Schlimbesserung · 14/01/2018 22:41

It's lovely, I hope you can make it all work OP.

MrsFezziwig · 14/01/2018 22:43

You had me at Filey! I love the Yorkshire coast!
And can I hear the sound of southern Mumsnetters’ teeth gnashing at the price? Grin (though am lol-Ing a bit at the statement “lots of houses in Yorkshire don’t have gardens” - on what is this interesting fact based?)Hmm

angstinabaggyjumper · 14/01/2018 22:47

Do you mind being overlooked by flats and does that building cut out sunshine from your garden?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 14/01/2018 22:50

No

  1. No garden
  1. The senior state school provision looks very poor
  1. There are not enough bathrooms for that mix of ages sharing as children get older
Rainbowsandflowers78 · 14/01/2018 22:50

No decent secondary schools - they are all rated as inadequate- hsve you looked at the school situation?

user764329056 · 14/01/2018 22:53

Beautiful house, hope you get it

Didiusfalco · 14/01/2018 22:53

You had me at Filey!. Mrs Fezziwig that’s how I felt too Smile

That part of the North Yorkshire Wink coast is lovely.

I think the downside is probably the garden because it’s out of proportion to the size of the house, but the location is great and so near the beach/park it really wouldn’t matter. To me it looks like a fabulous buy with great room sizes and plenty of space for everyone Smile

Didiusfalco · 14/01/2018 22:56

...see what you mean about the schools though Gobollino Sad

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 14/01/2018 22:56

This house for example would get them into scalby schools which look the best option locally

Pasithea · 14/01/2018 22:57

No garden. Is there enough bathrooms.

minniemoll · 14/01/2018 23:01

That's an amazing house, I'd snap it up!

BougieQueen · 14/01/2018 23:09

It's beautiful...huge too!
