Would anyone be kind enough to me some kind of ball figures for extension?

Hi

I know I need proper quotes. But I have literally no idea even what region of costs I'm looking at.

Basically I want to tear down my conservator and replace it with a larger, proper room. And to put a bedroom on top. Tricky part would be accessing the bedroom from upstairs as I think I'd need to move a wall between bathroom and bedroom to create a corridor.

Also cost if I just replace conservatory with ground floor extensions? Heating already plumbed to conservatory.

Thanks for any advice!

I spoke to a local builder when we were lookin and he said for the building work (to ready to decorate/fit kitchen etc) work on £1200/sqm for ground floor and £1000/sqm for first floor.

We looked at doing similar, but instead are replacing existing conservatory with a bigger more solid one and new kitchen/bathroom and fully decorating.

Our extension would have cost in the region of £120k (reconfiguring upstairs to accommodate extra rooms and an L shaped double story extension)

Thanks both. Hoping I can avoid any kitchen/bathroom work to keep costs down!

I was quoted 200k for a similar double-storey extension.

We’ve been quoted 30k to remove our existing conservatory and replace with a single storey extension.

Really depends where you are in the country. Some regions might still be around £1.5k per square metre. London can be as much as £3k+!

Where are you living op?
I’m in Cambridgeshire and quotes for our extension came in so high we’ve had to really reduce what we are doing.
It’s now around the 85K mark but we chopped the most expensive part off the design.

Surrey.. sounds like I may just have to stick at single story. Maybe I could create a diner and small guest bedroom on a single story?
