Thinking of moving to north Finchley - views?

Hi there. We (DH, DD and I) currently live in Muswell Hill but thinking of moving to the other side of the north circular to get a bigger place. We've got a rough initial search area from north Finchley up to Totteridge and across as far east as Palmers Green/Winchmore Hill, i.e. Also considering Southgate and surrounds.

We want to move to a house that can last us so access to decent state primary and secondaries a key consideration.

Be keen on any views here. Initial hunch is that north Finchley in catchment of wren/Compton might suit us but we don't know any of these areas well so keen to stay open minded.

Love north Finchley. It’s gritty enough to feel like London proper but nice enough not to feel grotty. Decent shops and restaurants and feels much less suburban than the other areas you mention. East Finchley is even better but more ££££
