Thanks! Although I think we can be seen by our neighbours. However it really gives a great view to the (not particularly big) garden and it’ll be nice once the garden is done.

Mine got a lot done today! They’re coming back tomorrow to finish off some painting and collect all their equipment, and will have some small jobs to do in the new year too. We’ve kept a bit of money back to cover those, and it seems about the right amount for the work that needs to be done. Considering where we were a few weeks ago I’m just pleased to have a working kitchen for Christmas.

Am now in the middle of scrubbing every square inch that isn’t covered in tools, so we can start putting things away. We also have some flat pack stuff to build. It’s going to be a looong night!

No we aren't finished but very very close. The utility room has got quite delayed - they’ve “lost” the flooring person

Plus the kitchen tiles haven’t been grouted - not sure if that’s happening tomorrow or not.

Once we’ve got our furniture in, it’ll feel properly like ours. I really can’t wait.

Here’s mine so far (the clear bits anyway), I think it’s the teeniest most bijou one of our group! I can’t even take a picture of the utility it’s so small!

That’s gorgeous!! I love the floor. It looks amazing. I wanted floor like that but we couldn’t afford it. What a lovely lovely kitchen!!!

Namedy that is not bijou! I have floor envy, exactly what we wanted but we have had to compromise and got engineered normal wood.

Our worktops are from Topsco. It's called Branco cinzento . We're reallypleased

Bax - gorgeous worktop! And getting the thicker surface for the same price is amazing!

Amazing to see some very close to finished kitchens and new spaces on here, such amazing achievers you should all feel really proud and pleased. I find it so inspiring as we are still yet to start our build; here’s hoping for a comparatively beautiful space for 2018 for us!

bax, I do love your worktop and what a bargain. We had to paid extra for the 30mm but it looks much better. I’ve been cleaning today and it so sparkly and lovely

Windows are sliding doors from bifold express - I don’t know the brand and can’t find the invoice to check. They had a showroom near us with loads of options to see in the flesh.

Bax I've got copper/brass touches through the house - all started with falling in love with this beaut of a bath (ignore the repugnant window - it's being finished off with architrave over the Christmas period and dodgy original openers are being replaced!)

Ooh and the stiffkey blue is looking good in the dining room - so happy with how it looks against the old-style rad and copper pipes!

And yes, that is the street in front - going to need some appropriate window coverings otherwise I'll be giving a floor show...

Ah thanks whisky, yes we went for the same pale grey throughout - it’s Dulux polished pebble. It looks very different depending on where you are in the house.

So having cleaned every millimetre of the kitchen I’ve noticed a few small scuffs and dings - not sure if anything can be done about them. Will speak to the builders about it in the new year, might have better perspective after having lived with it all for a while.

Best of luck with it all whattodo! I hope that you’re able to ride the highs and lows with a good sense of humour; something I lost towards the end there!
