Does anyone have vinyl flooring on their stairs?

Nope, I'd think it would be noisy and probably dangerously slippery!

Not vinyl but we are in the process of laminate flooring our stairs. We have no carpets in the house now and it seemed ridiculous to have carpet only on the stairs.

I wouldn't think it would be any more noisy or slippery than wooden stairs.

How about cork. Wooden stairs need floor paint or varnish.
I don't regret removing the stair carpet and painting them.
They are easy to clean but boy do they get dirty! The carpet must have been revolting.
