Missed opportunity... What do you think of this house?

I'm getting serious house envy!

I house that we viewed over two years ago, has just come back onto the market. All done up. And it looks amazing!!! Made me wish we'd bought it instead of our house. It is really that great or does anyone fancy ripping into it to tell me all things wrong with it?

I see the need for a new roof. Other then that I like it. 😉

whoopwhoop21 · 18/10/2017 18:38

jojo I love it how even at 4m one has to compromise!

PrincessPlod · 18/10/2017 18:40

I want it, we have enough kids to fill it but no money x

SilverSpot · 18/10/2017 18:47

@JoJoSM2 much nicer plot and much nicer bones of the house.

I too would want to change the decor but prefer the kitchen. Useful nanny/teen flat in the attic as well.

lostpurplehoodie · 18/10/2017 18:47

The B on picture 16 is upside down. If they are so slapdash in their decorating can you imagine what other corners they cut? Wink

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 18/10/2017 18:51

It's gorgeous... but it has a small door into the eaves that I find super spooky. I couldn't live there just for that! I'm weird

origamiwarrior · 18/10/2017 18:51

Does anyone know where to get those sheepskin chair tie-ons in the kitchen?

SwedishEdith · 18/10/2017 18:54

I don’t like it. It’s a bit like they’ve picked every trend they could find on Instagram and shoved it into one house. It doesn’t feel very cohesive.

Exactly. Even down to the religious picture on the sideboard/shelf behind the settee with the pink (what else?) cushions.

ClashCityRocker · 18/10/2017 18:54

Meh. It's much bigger than my house and much nicer done, but it's a bit bloody soulless.

I can think of better things to do with 1.4 million.

It's a bit bland isn't it. Could be lovely but you'd have to spend a fortune unblanding it.

Mega flow systems rock. We have just done a renovation and we have one. We have 3 showers and can use all of them at once with no drop in water pressure.

SwedishEdith · 18/10/2017 19:00

It's disproportionate - there are far too many bedrooms for the living space. The eating area is poky. Grin.

MotherofPearl · 18/10/2017 19:11

HokeyMan's nailed it: footballers' wives vibes!

ClaudiaNaughton · 18/10/2017 19:20

Wonder if previous owners have sold off part of garden? There's a house very near.

PickAChew · 18/10/2017 19:27

@whoopwhoop21 at least it comes complete with grey walls!

PickAChew · 18/10/2017 19:33

We're buying a 1930s house with those files, breakfast. The whole roof is about 20 years past its expected lifespan and desperately needs replacing. Those tiny tiles are so sweet, but like that porch, are falling apart and sit like a load of wonky teeth.

PickAChew · 18/10/2017 19:33

Tiles. Bloody stupid phone.

woofsaidtimmy · 18/10/2017 21:06

Ugh at the dangly hearts / fake flowers / knick-knackery. And that pokey front porch looks like it leaks.

JoJoSM2 · 18/10/2017 21:32

If the roof needs doing that’ll be blooming expensive for someone...

It is lovely but looks a bit 'trying too hard' for my liking.
It wouldn't be for me with the kitchen/diner/reception room (or whatever they choose to call it) all running into one.
I like a separate kitchen.

BumWad · 18/10/2017 22:19

I want that bee cushion!

(Northerner)

MrsFezziwig · 18/10/2017 22:43

I’m oop north of course! Would prefer not to be too specific, not to mention the fact that many people don’t seem to think there are any nice areas in the north!
