Missed opportunity... What do you think of this house?

I'm getting serious house envy!

I house that we viewed over two years ago, has just come back onto the market. All done up. And it looks amazing!!! Made me wish we'd bought it instead of our house. It is really that great or does anyone fancy ripping into it to tell me all things wrong with it?

Not enough storage space or counter space in the kitchen OP. Twould drive you mental.

OlennasWimple · 18/10/2017 16:06

I can see where they spent the money - 4000 sq foot would eat up a lot of any renovation budget. I can also see where they have scrimped a bit (the flooring doesn't look like solid wood, for example)

ifcatscouldtalk · 18/10/2017 16:08

Think I could just about put up with it. Grin

Ttbb · 18/10/2017 16:09

Thank you for the property porn-c statisfyibg-except for the gondfish bathroom-why? Who wants to look at gold fish while they pee? Also way too much purple for my taste.

thecatsthecats · 18/10/2017 16:11

Good grief, I know they've done a lovely job with the interiors, but unless every last candle comes with the house, they do NOT need 45 photos of them. I couldn't keep track of what sort of house or room I was supposed to be looking at.

Photos that cover the large rooms adequately and in a sensible order, and one photo per every other significant room (all four bathrooms plus the toilet unnecessary - two bathrooms would do it).

(misses point of thread...)

MrsFezziwig · 18/10/2017 16:15

Am proud to be the first to say that a similar house in my area could be bought for under 500k (and it’s a nice area)

SilverSpot · 18/10/2017 16:17

ll four bathrooms plus the toilet unnecessary - two bathrooms would do it

I don't agree - I think you should have one of every room and every bathroom at least.

SilverSpot · 18/10/2017 16:18

@sparechange oh yeah so there is! Missed it :-)

SilverSpot · 18/10/2017 16:20

I love the blue tiled fireplace in the master bedroom

JoJoSM2 · 18/10/2017 16:21

Could it really be laminate flooring? Shock

MrsFezziwig, where do you live?

whoopwhoop21 · 18/10/2017 16:22

MrsFezziwig where can I ask? If I wanted something similar size to OP I need to start with this "bargain" fixed upper!

Apileofballyhoo · 18/10/2017 16:27

All that space and there is no proper dining area - just a kitchen table shoved into a corner.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 18/10/2017 16:27

I love it but I would worry that the tiles on the main roof were as dodgy as the ones on the front porch.
Also what's the point of the alcove in the goldfish loo? It would have made a useful cupboard

LaurieFairyCake · 18/10/2017 16:28

Its HUGE, almost 4000 square feet - properly enormous and lovely. I love the garden.

LaurieFairyCake · 18/10/2017 16:29

Good gravy that Balham property is massively overpriced Shock

SilverSpot · 18/10/2017 16:33

@whoopwhoop21 fire damaged property, £1.5m

WOW

SilverSpot · 18/10/2017 16:35

Can someone post some more property porn please for us to critique?

yomellamoHelly · 18/10/2017 16:43

Really don't like the flooring. Think it jars with the original woodwork. Would cost a fortune to replace.

whoopwhoop21 · 18/10/2017 16:46

So my dream houses are in the Heaver estate, no offstreet parking mind.

If I won the Euromillons it would be Wimbledon Villiage for me. Don't particularly like this one but the best I could find.

CandyMelts · 18/10/2017 16:48

Sorry OP, it's lovely... except for the goldfish

SilverSpot · 18/10/2017 17:17

@whoopwhoop21 nice but both quite overlooked?

whoopwhoop21 · 18/10/2017 17:22

silver never checked that. However Im a Londoner so not really fussed by that. A house in a field with no neighbours would scare me. 😁

OutandIntoday · 18/10/2017 17:30

I dont like:
The flooring in the livingroom/kitchen
The open plan to the livingroom
And the thing that would drive me bat shit crazy and seriously put me off - the lack of any work space next to the cooker and generally bugger all work top at all in the kitchen Grin

JoJoSM2 · 18/10/2017 17:31

I'd quite like this one. Almost identical sq footage to the Sutton house but a much, much, much nicer plot. I'd want t change the decor, though...
