if you have white gloss kitchen units what colour worktop, floor and walls do you have?

And do you like them? Anything you would change if you could?

I really like the high gloss white handless units but can't decide on the rest. Found a quartz white glitter worktop but not sure if that's too much. It's a big kitchen.

We had Walnut with gloss white in our old place. It looked lovely but they were quite hard work trying not to ruin them! I loved them and would have them again though.

Id go for a deep grey granite work top and neutral floors. Don’t do all white it will look too sterile. Definitely don’t do glitter work tops, that’s a fad that will pass fast.

Titsywoo · 03/10/2017 19:20

My friend had white quartz worktops with a grey colour on the walls and a walnut floorboard style of Amtico. Looked really good.

We have cream/beige gloss handless cupboards with walnut worktop and floor - looks fab

Itscurtainsforyou · 03/10/2017 19:22

White walls, black marbled-effect granite worktops and splash backs, floor mottled black/blown stone-effect floor tiles.

The uneven effect on floor & worktop means dirt isn't seen straight away Smile

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 03/10/2017 19:22

Good point about the fad, I'll ditch the glitter worktop.

I would gain a good extra length of worktop if I had an oven under the hob but DH is says no we are getting old and should stick with the standing oven units Grin I want more worktop!

Oak floor, Matt grey worktop, white gloss units. Looks great, the wood floor helps to make it less sterile and more warm.

GuntyMcGee · 03/10/2017 19:26

White gloss cabinets, walnut worktop and walnut effect flooring. The walnut is lovely and warm so offset the starkness of the white gloss nicely.

White gloss is a pain in the arse to clean and keep streak free imo

katmarie · 03/10/2017 19:30

we have white gloss cupboards, neutral stone tile floor, and charcoal countertops, with red and white tiles. I like it, it makes what could feel like a small room quite bright and clean.

expatmigrant · 03/10/2017 20:55

Having mine fitted next week. White gloss kitchen, white quartz top with a slight fleck ( had pure white before and it drove me up the pole), grey glass splash back, engineered wood flooring in a grey with a pinkish hew, (very natural looking). Hoping I won't regret the EW in the long term. It is my second white gloss kitchen. I don't think it white ever looks sterile, it all depends on how you style the room.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 03/10/2017 21:18

expat that sounds exactly what I'm thinking of, the flooring sounds lovely, can you link to it please?

We're getting a kitchen fitted right now with white gloss handleless doors. The worktop is white quartz with a bit of grey marbling (it's silestone Bianco river). The floor tiles are very pale grey (porcelsnosa ocean calisa). It looks lovely so far. The worktop is beautiful.

We're going to choose a paint colour once it's in and a glass splashback colour too. DH has now powers of imagination so he needs to see it before he'll agree to a colour.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 03/10/2017 21:34

I really like the worktop Arbitrary I hope the fitting runs smoothly for you.

It's nearly there. Ish. The tiler is finishing off the floor tomorrow. And then the kitchen fitters are going to finish off on Thursday. I need to wait til DH comes back from a work trip abroad to think about paint and splashback colours.

DropZoneOne · 03/10/2017 21:42

Pale apple green walls, a grey speckly corian worktop and grey marble-ish Karndean flooring.

Chosen by previous owners. I'd prefer a black worktop but we have other priorities at the moment.

Ttbb · 03/10/2017 22:04

Sand coloured work tops. Light blue walls. Very costal. Works reasonably well.

220MM WIDE RUSTIC 'MERSEY' OAK MATT
The colour was slightly different from the sample (a bit more grey) but I quite like it anyway.
We ordered it from www.floorshop.co.uk

Joinourclub · 03/10/2017 22:15

Oo katz lets see a picture. That's exactly what I want and we begin in 4 weeks!

xyzandabc · 03/10/2017 22:17

This is ours. With a dark grey karndean floor but you can't see it in the pictures.
I love the white gloss handless and would definitely have it again. Also love all of our big pan drawers, so much better than cupboards!

Different sort of white worktop and it looks awful.

expatmigrant · 03/10/2017 22:33

That looks lovely xyz. Green splash back is very striking. We decided to keep our kitchen in more neutral colours as it is part of a larger family room and will put the colour in other furnishings. Originally were going to go with Kardean. Hope I won't regret the EW, especially if we end up getting a dog.

megletthesecond · 03/10/2017 22:38

Mine is similar to xyz's. Although I have white walls and an oak colour (I think) vinyl floor which has pleasantly surprised me.

almondfinger · 03/10/2017 22:50

Walnut engineered wood floors, a pale grey cement effect laminate counter, A very dark sludge surround and a pop of orange steel. It's amazing (if I do say so myself). A slight pain in the backside to keep clean.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 03/10/2017 22:59

I'm intrigued to see what a very dark sludge surround and a pop of orange steel is and looks like almond

Live seeing pictures, I'm a bit obsessed at the minute so appreciate all the help.

White units with black/grey worktops (not my choosing), island with grey gloss units and wood effect top. Dark greyish floor and olive green wall.
