We moved into a house yesterday that has this Hive thing for heating and hot water. The previous owner says it's great. Ascwe were unpacking it became ridiculously hot. I noticed that all the radiators were on max. The hive thermostat said actual temps 24'c and target 20'c. So I'm just wondering if the individual radiators should be on lower please? Or do you leave them on max and change the hive to be a lot lower temp? We've not got the app as we have just moved in and I'm guessing it's still in previous occupants name. Thanks in advance!

Weird, I thought the Hive was supposed to be a thermostat, so it shouldn't be 24 degrees when the target is 20. Hoping someone who knows a bit more can answer your question soon.

I have a Nest system which i assume is similar. When it is activated due to drop in temp it really doesn't matter what the radiator is set to as it just keeps the heating until the required temp is reached. I keep my bedroom ones off as i don't like my room too hot but other rooms can be heated. When it reaches the required temp the heating switches off but the temp can keep rising because the radiator are still hot and take a while to cool down. If you have really good insulation then i guess the temp will be retained longer. Things like lights and cooking also can add to the temp in a house. If you feel it is too warm set your Hive to 18 degrees and see how it goes?

Set at 18'c and much better also turned all rads down to 1 rather than 5/max. Thanks!
