Where to live in south Leicestershire

My wife and I are relocating to Leicestershire. My wife will be working in Narborough and I will be commuting to London around 3 days a week, and plan to travel by train from either Rugby, Nuneaton, Market Harborough or Leicester.
Therefore we would like to be somewhere within easy reach of Narborough and a train station - ideally maximum 30 minutes drive to both.
My mum lives in Leicester (Knighton) so it'd be handy to be reasonably close to her too (thought not essential).
We'd like somewhere with a sense of community and easy access to nice outdoor areas. It would also be good to have some facilities (corner shop, pub) within walking distance.
We're looking for a decent sized family home (4 bedrooms), with a budget of £300-400k.
We're planing to start a family so good schools are also a consideration.
Does anyone have any suggestions of places to live? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I'd pick market harbour given the choice. Beautiful market town with lots to offer. From what I remember a few years ago rugby town centre is pretty empty now they have large shopping complex on the outskirts.

Are you able to spend some time in each area to explore??

Rugby has faster train to London and grammar schools...

Market harborough to narborough would be a horrible commute.
Narborough / blaby / Countesthorpe / whetstone all nice areas and very easily affordable.
Lutterworth great for amenities and would be a good commute across to rugby for the station whilst being only 20mins from narborough.
Gilmorton / stoned Stanton lovely but property rarer there as it's small.
Schools good.
Your budget won't get you 4 bedrooms in knighton or surrounding areas but would get a decent size house (not new build) in the places I mentioned

I'd look somewhere in the M1/M69/A5 triangle - quick to Nuneaton and Rugby - the West Coast Main Line has faster trains even if most of them are the no-frills London Midland service. And the right side of Leicester for Narborough, Fosse Park, the Vue cinema etc. Perhaps look at schools in that area and decide? Most (all?) of Leicestershire has access to countryside and most of the bigger villages have a pub and shop and plenty of community stuff going on.
