Has anyone lived in both London and Glasgow

Just that really. We're in east London at the moment, pondering a possible move to the west end of Glasgow in the medium term. Any opinions as to whether it would be a good move? We're lucky enough to live in an actual house with an actual garden in (what I consider to be!) a good area here, and moving would probably mean a tenement flat with shared garden.. but it would give us more money to live on, maybe better secondaries (primaries here are pretty good) and maybe a more relaxed pace of life (??). Still very much at the pondering stage at the moment so any thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

I stay in a really nice area of Renfrewshire. Some very highly rated schools in the bit I stay in. £400k would get you a large 4/5 bedroom detached house

In my Other Life I'd move to Glasgow (I live in zone 2). I don't because of the cold, wet, short days in winter. Dark by 3!

RE SNP supporters. What silly comments! I personally know a lot of Engkish friends who support SNP. Plus anyone saying 'They are the worst thing about Glasgow'- they save each person attending higher education circa £36k and refused to go down academy road like tories and allow people without any degrees to be teachers! Much better for families in Scotland.

I live in London suburbs and have family in Glasgow and although parts are lovely I just find it so dreary up there and always am happy to be back! The weather is a main factor for me!

And every time I look at London property prices I think "thank God I don't live there" Grin
