Hope it's ok to start another one! So we have a week of waiting for surveys etc...

Hooray for Giz! You are nearly there Smile

Pulling I love your house. I really want a Victorian house but there are very few in the village we're moving to.

A bit of movement here; our buyer has proposed completing on 10th November. I'm so glad somebody else is making a noise now. To achieve this we really need to exchange on Friday. I've emailed my solicitor and vendor's EA but sol says they don't chase, they just wait for confirmation Hmm and vendor's EA's sudden onset of inertia means she seems content for things just to happen to her in their own sweet time Confused

It looks like my EA and I are going to have to drive this up and down the chain, inch by inch.

Nessalina · 25/10/2017 10:50

Sounds like a plan then Yoga, I hope it comes off!!

Alas, we are indeed going to need a new thread... I was hoping to exchange by the end of this one!!

YogaDrone · 25/10/2017 11:18

Good luck Ann. It's got to be positive that someone else is now making waves about the lack of progress. How is the dropped kerb situation doing?

So do I Nessa, but honestly, I daren't hope for it. We do have 2 viewings this afternoon now.

There is still time to get exchanged - 20 posts left! Fingers crossed Grin

Gizlotsmum · 25/10/2017 11:24

Fx Ann. Two people talking dates has to be more motivating than one. Get your EA pushing and your buyer can get their EA to push your vendors too

OP posts:
AnnPerkins · 25/10/2017 12:08

Sorry Yoga, I overlooked you in my haste to post. I hope your vendor comes through for you. He really wants you to buy his house, obviously.

The kerb situation is going to be ok.

Good luck to Nessa, Serialgoogler and Lazy. I think I'll be there for the start of the next thread but you guys might be luckier Flowers

mussinboots · 25/10/2017 14:01

Fx crossed for everyone to exchange soon!

We’ve got viewings booked later on in the week. Hoping for our chain to be fixed soon or risk losing onwards place. Will contact vendor on the weekend to update her on the situation...

lubeybooby · 25/10/2017 15:49

still watching and waiting here. hoping our vendors onward purchase is progressing nicely - going to chase it up next week as it will have been 3 weeks since they offered then. see if their searches and surveys and whatnots are all going ok

I think I've mentally given up on the idea of being in before xmas though even before finding out how that is going. less stressful that way if we instead plan to still be here and do a new year, new house thing.

Of course IF all IS actually well and quickly then we'll shift our arses but I'm letting go of the xmas dream...

Good luck to all and YAY for the recent exchangers!

AnnPerkins · 25/10/2017 16:29

Good luck with your viewings mussinboots.

Lubey, that sounds very sensible. It's better for your nerves to lower your expectations and be pleasantly surprised.

We've gone from inertia to stalemate to WW3 today. Our vendors' vendors have asked to move on the 9th now. Our buyers' buyers have refused, because they thought we were doing it on the 3rd Confused Our buyers have said they want to hear no more about completion dates until everyone has agreed and is ready to exchange. They apparently wanted the 3rd, or the 10th at the latest, which isn't how it was pitched to me yesterday.

So, my EA is now going to phone vendors' EA and tell them their vendors have got to bend. They've dictated the whole sale and held everyone up this long so now they've got to be flexible.

My stomach is churning.

lubeybooby · 25/10/2017 16:45

hahahahaHAHAHAHAhahaa

just heard our buyers are pulling out because our vendors are 'nowhere near ready' to discuss a date yet

this seems a little silly and we are hoping we can put the fire out - they are buying somewhere with no chain and our buyers should have been told that this was the case and they are in the early stages of buying this no chain place. I am hoping it's just miscommunication (there has been a LOT of that so far!!)

if not and if our buyers are still not happy then well i spose it's time to look at rented then. we haven't a hope of selling again for the same price at the moment.

YogaDrone · 25/10/2017 17:06

Oh crikey Lubey I hope the EA's can talk your buyer down and explain the position to them. Fingers crossed for you.

And for you too Ann. There is always one party in a chain who seems to think they can dictate the terms to everyone and doesn't seem to realise it isn't all about them. Good luck!

pullingmyhairout1 · 25/10/2017 17:37

Thank you. Absolutely love the house I'm buying. I still can't believe it's happening.

It really is the cherry on top. I'm moving in with my partner, getting a new puppy, starting a new job all in the space of the month. It is exciting but incredibly stressful.

AnnPerkins · 25/10/2017 17:41

Thanks Yoga.

Lubey Shock I hope your EA is smoothing thing over right now.

Silence from both EAs here

I suppose there's always the nuclear option if the sellers won't budge. We're not buying our dream home or anything, as long as we keep our sale I don't care what else happens so I'm happy to call the sellers' bluff.

LazyDailyMailJournos · 25/10/2017 17:49

Hi guys, have been awol for a few days simply because I needed a break from it. I spend my time living, eating and breathing this purchase process and it just got too much.

Giz thrilled that you've exchanged - what a relief!!

Yoga any news on a possible part ex?

Positive moving vibes to everyone else - sorry there have been so many updates I can't keep track of them all!!

No further forward here - top of the chain still isn't ready but we are chasing daily, as are our vendors so I am hoping that we may get some positive news this week. I'd really hoped that I'd be done and dusted before we got to the end of this thread but I suspect it would take a miracle!!

Gizlotsmum · 25/10/2017 17:55

Taking a break from boxing things ( I am slowly losing the will to live).

@lazy @ann hope you hear something soon

@lubey oh my word that is crazy, hope they get talked down

MrsPussinBoots · 25/10/2017 18:44

Hi @Whatthesausage , my survey and valuation is the same day as yours. Wish it was sooner.

Had a quick second viewing of the property I’m buying today as offered during first viewing. Still love the house luckily and took a ton of photos and measurements. Met the vendor who wants to exchange on 24th Nov which would be perfect for me ... If the mortgage and searches pull their fingers out and speed up.

StormyIsland · 25/10/2017 18:46

pulling I love the property you've bought! It's so beautiful! We don't really get stunning properties full of character around where we are :( or not very many anyway. I would have loved something that style but we've got a big garden with a paddock so what lacks in character I'll make up for with a couple of ponies Grin

Yay for gizlot and perhaps too. You must be so excited to finally get to prepare for actually moving.

Muss that's such a rubbish thing to happen. I've got fingers crossed your vendors will be sympathetic and you'll find someone really quickly. It could happen really quickly. Apparently someone in our village recently accepted an offer on their property five days after it went on the market. And we're not exactly a buzzing metropolis.. tiny village north west in the middle of nowhere.

Fingers crossed for yoga's part exchange!!

Lubey and Ann sounds messy. Can't believe how mean and selfish people can be. Just don't get why people can't be a bit less complicated and more honest throughout the whole process.

No news for us still. Our buyer has signed but we're still waiting for the vendors solicitor to sort out the rights to various things. And for the land registry to make the changes we've suggested to the map on the deeds. Just wish someone could tell me it's going to take days, weeks or months.

lubeybooby · 25/10/2017 18:55

it is nuts. the whole thing is nuts

poor DP can't take the uncertainty - haven't had an answer back at all so it's going to be a night of this not knowing bollocks.

I don't fucking care anymore. we'll rent to break the chain, or give up and stay here and buy a separate office instead (one of the reasons for moving is room and that I need an office)

well preferably continue with our purchase of course but whatever happens I just don't give a shit anymore. nothing is worth this stress. we'll sort it out one way or another.

YogaDrone · 25/10/2017 19:12

My heart goes out to all of you Wine and Gin and Cake (pick your poison!)

I don't blame you taking a break Lazy and I'm sorry you haven't had any progress.

It's so obvious from the mis-communications within your chains that the review should really take Lazy's point into consideration. I can't help but feel that more transparency could have avoided a lot of the issues you're all facing.

That's wonderful pulling Grin all the very best of luck to you, DP and DDog. (I love dogs, they are wonderful companions. We have a Labrador Smile)

We had two viewings back to back this afternoon - fingers crossed! Although now that the part-ex thing has been mentioned I totally want that rather than be stuck in a chain!

The end is in sight though Giz - soon those infernal boxes will be in your new home!

Anyway, we need a new thread! Who will do the honours?

Bunnyfuller · 25/10/2017 19:36

The world is full of cockingtossingtwatfriggerwankers - I cannot believe the things going on. I want to give you a giant hug bottle of wine.

Bottom of our chain (and I mean evolutionary as well as the seller/buyer scenario) signed on Monday but DIDNT REALISE HE NEEDED TO PAY THE DEPOSIT THEN. I'm in full omfg mode, he has to pull it together from various accounts and I suspect some of it will be pennies in a tasteful giant whiskey bottle. I've been so angry I've upcycle X a Welsh dresser by means of drugs through the trapped nerve pain. Now moved onto wine to numb the damage from the painting.

Thinking of you all and praying we all pass to the other side shortly (slightly sick joke there, my buyer is in the funeral business)

Gizlotsmum · 25/10/2017 20:38

@yoga, if I walk into or fall over one more it’ll be in the garden! But you are right 2 more sleeps and then we get to unpack them all ( with kids ‘helping’)

LazyDailyMailJournos · 25/10/2017 20:43

I nominate Yoga to do the honours for the new thread Wine

YogaDrone · 26/10/2017 09:34

Here we go, new thread for those of us who need it [sob] here: In a Chain Support Thread Nov2017

Fingers crossed to all for lots of progress today Flowers

YogaDrone · 26/10/2017 09:36

Oh poo Bunny - I should have called the new thread "In a chain with cockingtossingtwatfriggerwankers support thread" Grin

pullingmyhairout1 · 26/10/2017 12:04
