Thinking of moving to Napsbury park St Albans

My husband and I are thinking of moving to Napsbury park as my husband got a new job and he needs to be close to the M1, but I work in London and I am worried about the distance to the nearest train station, which I think is St Albans? We are also used to walking to shops and nice pubs (moving from Rickmansworth) and I dont think there are nice pubs and shops in walking distance. I am hoping there will be someone from the Park who can let me know. We found our dream family home in the area, but we just had these reservations. I hope someone can shed some light... Many thanks

Hi. I don't live in Napsbury park but I have family that do. The development itself is lovely. Green and spacious. But London Colney is horrid. Nothing really within walking distance. The only bonus I can think of is there's a nice Thai and Indian takeaway not too far away. You really are paying through the nose for the development itself and accessibility to the M25 and M1, nothing else. Have you looked round the area yourself?

Thanks so much Orangebird69, it is a lovely development but being so close to London Colney did worry me. I actually dont know too much about LC, but we did drive through it after coming out of Napsbury park and it doesnt look the greatest. We have driven around St Albans and we love it. House prices seem to be expensive all over. We like to be walking distance to a good pub and restaurant etc and to be within walking distance to a trains station would be great too. I guess we will just keep looking.

London Colney isn't that bad! there is a large shopping complex within walking distance that has a sainsburys and large m and s.

Radlett is only a small drive away

Thanks bingobunny. I am not too sure of the area London Colney and I guess it just looks very different to Napsbury park.
I have been to the large shopping center which is great.

Will check out Radlett..
Thanks

It's horrid. There's a reason why a 3 bed town house is £700k in Napsbury and £400k in LC....

I have just come across this thread as I am reasearching Napesbury Park. I am so upset to see London Colney described as horrid. I do not find it horrid. It has everything you need, lots of shops, pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, parks, lake, doctors, dentist, Gym, and more, People are so friendly and I have been very happy here in my home .. yes cheaper than Napesbury but a far better build !
