What happens if my landlord doesn't collect my letter from the delivery office?

I've handed in my notice on my flat and have sent it first class signed for. They tried to deliver it today and no one was in. What do I do if redelivery fails and he doesn't go to collect the letter? Will it mean I haven't given my notice?

I'm worrying because it's fairly close to the cut off for giving notice. Can anyone advise me on what to do please? :)

Just send a copy of the letter first class and obtain proof of posting at a post office. What does the tenancy agreement state about serving notice?

What wowfudge said - that way the notice is assumed served. And it is free.

That method is how you get stuff to people who may not want to receive it.

Yes - it will be "deemed service" if you use first class post.

Do this and also send a copy by email if you have an email address
