What tiling is naff and what is cool or classic for a wet-room.....

Want to do something fun and wow but dont want it to look out of date before the grout has dried.....

I like really large (upwards of 60cm) square dark tiles (charcoal for example). I prefer to have the whole shower room tiled as well rather than just the cubicle and a bit around the splashback. Textured tiles can look nice but I'm not a fan of patterns.

yes I think fully tiled is essential - should have said that it will be narrow windowless wet room so not sure dark tiles would work ?

We have fully tiled big charcoal coloured tiles which are gorgeous and easy to keep clean. However, having frequently blocked shower drain and issue with water not being hot when at full temperature. Plumber says the tiles will need to be cracked off to get to the pipes etc to solve each problem. It's a problem worth considering before you hide everything away under tiles.
