I'm looking at the moment for a family friendly 3-4 bed that will do us (me, dh, dd3 and hopefully one other in future) for the foreseeable future. We've focused our search around Hersham/Walton on Thames following v helpful suggestions on a previous thread I posted www.mumsnet.com/Talk/property/2855612-Any-other-towns-in-Surrey-Kent-within-this-budget We've found a house in Hersham we really like but have also seen a few arguably better (bigger and closer to station) in West Byfleet. On paper I'm tempted by WB - good facilities and schools) but don't know it at all. Any views on how they compare?

Westbyfleet over those villages, pyrford is lovely just a bit more of a walk or car journey to westb and the wider choice of shops and station. If you want somewhere close to westb but cheaper there is new haw. Both have outstanding schools and feed into the same secondary school unless you’re catholic.

Any advice on good area, secondary schools. no need to be close to train station.
Great to hear from locals. Thanks

Hi all we are also looking to move out to Surrey for a bit more space and a safe area for our little one - any tips on areas would be gratefully received I still need to commute into London so need to be near a train station. Thoughts on Hersham/ Walton/ Shepperton areas thanks :)

Hi all! I came across this thread while doing some research around moving to hersham/walton-on-thames. It seems like west byfleet is a popular place too. Not sure if anyone will read this but It would be so helpful to hear your thoughts if you're living in this area whilst commuting into London for work? Is it doable? and where would be the best place to consider? Thank you for reading Smile

Yes train line is great. Mostly the area is nice. Obviously some areas/roads nicer than others.
