Our house is set just back from the high street of a thriving and very popular town.
It's accessed by a shared passageway that runs underneath a building and is surrounded by a variety of shops and businesses. We know it's not to everyone's taste, but those who like it REALLY like it. Almost everyone who visits remarks on how suprisingly quiet it is considering the central location.
We have re mortgaged it 3 times with different lenders in the time we have owned it, without a sniff of an issue.
We are now selling, and have an onward purchase secured. We were gutted to find out today that our buyers mortgage was outright refused by their bank. Apparently the surveyor refused to even value our property, saying that the amount of commercial properties around us made it undesirable.
The estate agent seems unruffled, and said that the buyer has already gone to a different lender. We just need to await the outcome of this.
Should we be panicking?
