Range cookers - are lacanche and falcon worth it or should i get a rangemaster

We are kicking off a long awaited kitchen renovation and looking at Range Cookers. We were considering a Lacanche until I read terrible reviews about them on line, particularly with regards to any servicing or repairs needed. Has anyone any experience. I've also heard Falcons are good but can't find many reviews about them on line.

Is a lacanche or falcon worth the money or should I just get a rangemaster which tends to get quite good reviews?

Have you considered Leisure? We're very happy with ours and never had any problems with it.

I have beautiful Falcon. I love it. When we were selling our house nearly everyone who viewed it actually STROKED it.

The doors are heavy and strong. Every part can be replaced if damaged.

The only thing I don't like is that the rings around the burners have discolored.

It is coming with me when I move.

Discoloured. My phone thinks I'm American apparently.

I have a Rangemaster that has gone strong for 12 years so would recommend. HTH Smile

I had a rangemaster and have just replaced (moved house). Fab fab fab.

They do spare parts in case things get damaged.

I've got a Rangemaster Nexus. It's lovely.

The rangemaster is built to BS I would check whether the falcon passes BS as I'm not sure whether they do?

I've a rangemaster and love it. It looks nice and does exactly what it's supposed to 😁

I have a range master Elan I love it. pull out grill and shelf in oven door are superb. Had it for 10 years. no problems at all.

Second rangemaster here. New house needed a 100cm range, previously had a 90cm, and went for Professional +. Love it. Would probably buy another if and when we move again. Only issue we've had is with the stainless steel coating on the timer knobs bubbling up but they've replaced these. Also had a hinge issue on one of the doors and they sent an engineer out to fix it.

I hate my rangemaster. It's shit!

Goldensunnydays81 · 02/05/2017 19:56

I've got a rangemaster Nexus, I love it and I spent a long time deciding on a range oven.

My mum has a Lacanche and curses it daily. It takes forever for the burners to light and the burners have one setting, nuclear (slight exaggeration but you get the idea). Cost a bomb and she much prefers my britannia or my sister's (can't remember the make) both much cheaper.

We had a new kitchen put in last year and bought a Rangemaster Elise. I love it, bakes brilliantly, cooks evenly and looks gorgeous. I'd recommend it.

Rafflesway · 02/05/2017 21:32

Rangemaster classic owner here of 10 years.

Absolutely adore it and it still looks like new despite very heavy usage. No problems with it at all.

DrudgeJedd · 02/05/2017 21:38

I have a 15yo Mercury which still looks fantastic and has always worked perfectly. I love it, so glad that i chose it instead of the Lacanche

OnePlanOnHouzz · 02/05/2017 22:15

I changed my old Britannia for a falcon - totally love it !
