Avoiding the EA and selling home ourselves? Have you? (Scotland)

We are going to be putting our home on the market very soon.

We are seriously considering saving ourselves £3k and doing it ourselves - anyone got any advice? Or would you leave it to the EA and suck up the extortionate costs?

£3k? I went with countrywide and it was commission of 1%. Shop around!

We used an online EA called Settled and sold our house for £200 commission. I sold my first house without any EA at all but it was on a busy high street so visible to lots of potential purchasers.
