Seems we reached 1000 messages so I've started a new one!

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 20/02/2017 22:09

Thanks all. I have my fingers tightly crossed for you all.

KilburnOriginal · 21/02/2017 09:41

Good news Arsenic, hope the move goes smoothly....

ocelot41 · 21/02/2017 19:02

Ok so our buyers have applied for a mortgage straight away as promised and the people buying their house are due to get the survey back this week. I hope there will be no hiccups on either front!

Millimat · 21/02/2017 22:12

We've moved GrinWine

KilburnOriginal · 22/02/2017 13:36

Congratulations Millimat !

seafoodeatit · 22/02/2017 13:38

Congratulations on moving Millimat!

Ocelot - It sounds like good progress, I hope things keep going this way for you!

We've finally exchanged! now the stress of packing and arranging everything for the move with a baby and pregnancy and school aged child!

ChampagneTastes · 22/02/2017 14:26

Hello All - mind if I join in? We have an offer on our place and have had an offer accepted for a lovely new place but our vendors haven't anywhere to go yet. I have a feeling it's going to be a long old wait. I have skimmed a bit of this thread but some of the stories scare me so I shall just say congratulations to Millimat and I hope we'll be doing the same sooner rather than later!

Shaded · 22/02/2017 14:42

Can I join you guys. I was all smug about how smoothly things were going until my buyer pulled out last week. No problems with survey, leading up to exchange, starting to think of moving date and suddenly changed their mind.

Put house back on market yesterday and have 7 viewings arranged; but never thought we would be back to this situation. Just sick of it.

CampervanLady · 22/02/2017 16:51

seafood amazing! Congrats & good luck :)

Welcome champagne and shaded. We've been in limbo land since last August so know exactly how you feel!

ocelot41 · 22/02/2017 19:11

Congratulations to Seafood and Millimat! And hello Shaded - we have been there, twice! So you will find plenty of support here

ocelot41 · 22/02/2017 19:12

Sorry, should gave said hello also to Champagne - come in, put your feet up and we will while the time away with you

Saraleejunkie · 22/02/2017 19:20

Can I join? I've just had an offer accepted on a house. So excited but am now I'm limbo land too waiting for them to find somewhere. Anyone else have experience of this? I can't decided whether to start the ball rolling and get searches n survey done. They seem serious about wanting to move but I guess estate agents will say the positives.

ocelot41 · 22/02/2017 20:20

Welcome Sara. Hope someone will be along in a minute to advise- I have always sold before buying...

seafoodeatit · 22/02/2017 21:35

campervan I hope you get some good updates soon!

Millimat · 22/02/2017 22:15

I hope your moves go more smoothly than ours. After waiting since an offer being accepted on the house in August, on the day (after the date changes) the vendors weren't ready to leave so we arrived at the house still full of their things Angry
Luckily we had neighbours very kindly helping and are starting to slowly empty boxes.

MissDuke · 22/02/2017 22:26

Just joining in now, possibly a bit early but have been reading the thread. We accepted an offer on our house last week and put an offer in today on our dream house, however they are waiting to see if another potential buyer wants to put in a higher offer. Hopefully hear more tomorrow.

Our buyer is a cash buyer and the house we want has been a rental property for the last couple of years so at least it is a very short chain. Got our AIP today and the MA thinks it should all be straightforward as we have a large deposit due to the sale of our current property. Fingers crossed!!

Look forward to sharing this journey with you all!

ChampagneTastes · 22/02/2017 22:41

God this is scary. Our buyer is first in the chain and appears to be willing to be patient. Our vendor is going to be a nightmare I think ...

trevortrevorslattery · 23/02/2017 13:34

Hello! may I join?
I was on the viewings thread but luckily managed to sell pretty quickly so now waiting for things to start moving.
Our chain is pretty short - FTB - our buyer - us - empty house being sold by developer.
We accepted our offer about a week ago but still haven't heard anything re our buyer's survey. I shall not start to panic until after the weekend!
Supposedly everyone in the chain wants to go as fast as possible... fingers crossed!
Good luck everyone Flowers

CoshPunt · 23/02/2017 13:46

Can I join? :)

Have an offer accepted on our house, buyer is a developer who will let it out. He's waiting to hear back on mortgage stuff, has ordered searches and has already paid someone to come and clear the guttering. Shock He seems a pretty solid buyer so far! (Famous last words..?)

We've had an offer accepted on another house, and have just sent off the full mortgage application and rung round a few surveyors. Hopefully there should only be the three of us in the chain - our buyer, us and then the sellers, who are emigrating to France and have said they have somewhere to go already.

trevortrevorslattery · 23/02/2017 14:46

sounds perfect cosh hope it all goes well!

ocelot41 · 23/02/2017 18:53

Well, I took the unusual step of putting in an offer on a house subject to sale today (am in Scotland, it's not normally admissible). So fingers crossed that the English house does actually sell, and the uncertainty of the English system doesn't put the Scottish vendor off dealing with us

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 23/02/2017 19:03

Hello trevor and cosh. Welcome! Its nice to check in on here and see how everyone's getting on. It's slow moving, infuriating and sometimes shows the worst of estate agents, solicitors, buyers and sellers. But it's lovely to chat with others in the same boat!

CampervanLady · 24/02/2017 08:47

Still no real updates! Waiting on the buyers mortgage offer still.

Welcome newbies! Looks like the market has picked up here. Lots of new interest suddenly this week even tho we're SSTC. I'm sticking with our buyer though. :)

ocelot41 · 24/02/2017 11:57

Me too Camper! I really do hope it all works out for you

KilburnOriginal · 24/02/2017 14:56

Hello to the newbies, fingers crossed for plain sailing for you all.

No update here, still no survey done by our buyer, DH chased EA today and he's been told a surveyor has been "instructed", I have no idea what they have been doing for almost 5 weeks!

I just want to move now, I've mentally moved in and furnished!

The waiting is excruciating...
