A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?

Not quite ready for the 'in a chain' support group (please please don't let it be too long!), but we have just put our house up for sale and are waiting for viewings. Mostly cleaning and primping and procrastinating, with occasional adrenaline bursts when the phone rings.

Anyone else in the same position wanting to share the angst?

A 'waiting for viewings and offers' support group?
Equimum · 13/02/2017 07:34

That's a difficult situation to be in Littlemiss. Hopefully the market will pick up very soon and you'll find something you both love.

We had a couple view our house yesterday, who had been really difficult about making an appointment. We felt the EA had cornered them into agreeing a time and that they weren't really interested. Anyway, they put an offer in at 5pm yesterday and we said we'd really like a bit more. By 7pm they had come back with an offer of what we reAlly wanted, so hopefully we will be officially 'under offer' this morning 😄.

littlemissM92 · 13/02/2017 08:23

Thanks guys and that's great news :)

I will send him that table haha

I feel confident over the next 6 weeks there will be more we are keen to see it's so difficult because we literally can only go sat morns we both work stupid hours through the week and obviously he great ones you have to be so quick for x

Notanotherpawpatrol · 13/02/2017 11:04

The woman who did the house viewing on Friday (the woman from the agency) has gone on holiday without leaving any sort of hand over. They have no effing idea if the couple liked our house, hated it, want to put an offer in, want a second viewing Angry I am spitting feathers this morning and wondering what monkeys we have selling our house. I really want to go down to the agency this morning and do their effing job for them.

sparechange · 13/02/2017 11:16

Great news Equimum

I've just had the feedback call from the EA about Saturday's viewings
Couple 1 loved the house and want to come back for a 2nd viewing
Couple 2 feel it is overpriced for what else is on the market in the area. The agent said 'perhaps we need to discuss that'
WTF? We've put it on at the lower end of the range you gave us as a valuation, and you are telling me it is wrong, on the basis of one viewing?!

littlemissM92 · 13/02/2017 11:17

Absolutely get straight down there and give them hell!

Great news about 2nd viewing

Notanotherpawpatrol · 13/02/2017 14:06

just spoke to agent who suggested because agent a is on holiday, there was no way to get feedback till she was is back, next Monday Hmm I asked why they couldn't call the viewer and ask what they thought and if there were any properties they wanted a second viewing on. He actually said "oh yes! I could do that couldn't I!" ShockHmm
Is it me? Is that not common sense? I have to admit I lost it a little with him. Dh is going to run later and kick up a massive fuss. I've had enough of it all.

HalleLouja · 13/02/2017 14:31

Pawpatrol I think your EA is lacking in common sense.... Am still waiting to hear on a decision on the people who came yesterday.

HalleLouja · 13/02/2017 14:41

The people who came on Saturday want more of a project. The people who came yesterday are still considering it. They have realised it is the best they can get for their money but aren't sure if they want to move or not. I feel sorry for their buyer who has been waiting for months patiently for them to make a decision.

drspouse · 13/02/2017 14:50

STILL WAITING for our listing. Sorry for shouting. DH is home till Weds while I'm off with DS to my mum's. I've left him lots of tidiness instructions. No doubt he will ignore them.

Housefreak · 13/02/2017 16:32

hi, can I join?

Put our house on the market about 3 weeks ago and we've had about 8 viewers, not 1 offer though.
I'm just feeling very down, we live on a busy road (not really busy but busy enough). And the amount of people that are viewing it and then giving feedback oh it's on a main road is really starting to piss me off, surely these are things you can check out before you go to the hassle of viewing a house?
I've just spoke to my estate agent and had a bit of a rant, and asking them to vet the buyers a bit more and let them know where it is before they waste any more of my time.
Oh help Sad

Notanotherpawpatrol · 13/02/2017 16:52

Dh rang the EA again and asked if they had any feedback, the answer was "no, not yet, but they've put in an offer on another property so I don't think they're interested"
I have never heard my dh shout until today! Lots and lots of apologies, but it's all lipservice. I have an agent coming out tomorrow and another on wednesday. I think we'll sign with Wednesday people as soon as our 2 week notice is up (letter going out this evening) not happy is an understatement and we still haven't had any proper feedback on how the viewing went! Angry

Notanotherpawpatrol · 13/02/2017 16:54

Hi housefreak, no advice re estate agents...Ours are more than a little rubbish. But lots of sympathy.

ElleLondon · 13/02/2017 18:16

Hi, can I join in?

We put our house on the market last week. Have had 8 viewings but no offers! Lots of feedback about the location not being right. Do they not check that out beforehand???Angry

It's only been a week but I'm feeling a bit anxious.

ElleLondon · 13/02/2017 18:17

Just saw your post Housefreak

Same problem.

misty252 · 13/02/2017 18:35

Can I join too..Put property on market 2 weeks ago and not a single viewing Confused
Think it's probably overpriced but then everywhere else seems to be at the moment too, so we can't drop too much otherwise won't be able to afford anywhere else. Argh!

lia66 · 13/02/2017 18:41

Hi all. Can I join. Had our photos done today, hopefully go live tomorrow or weds. Not getting my hopes up because we live on a busy A road but I'll live in hope.

I've seen 2 houses that I love in different ways.

Equimum · 13/02/2017 19:24

I know His is a very selfish way to start my post, but we are now 'Sold STC' Grin. Our listing has been removed from RN and reclassified on the estate agent website. We were going to drop the price today!

Pawpatrol, I can't believe your EA have screwed up yet again. Definitely time for a change. I can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling right now. So sorry!

Misty, other than price, is there any particular reason you can see that might be discouraging viewers? Do the photos really show off the house's best features? Is there a floor plan online? Are you with an online EA? I only ask these questions, as I know they can be things that really discourage me from looking at houses which might otherwise tick our boxes.

Lia, good luck. If it's any consolation, we live wedged between a busy road and a train line. Although it's been a problem for a few people, we did ask our EA to make that explicit to people requesting viewings, just so they were aware.

Housefreak · 13/02/2017 19:40

Ellelondon it's so crap isn't it, the first thing I have ever done when buying a house is check out the area, which usually entails a drive round there.
I wish I had never moved here, Ive never really settled and can't wait to be in my next house.
Hope everyone else gets their offers soon.

misty252 · 13/02/2017 20:03

Equimum that's great news! Hope all goes smoothly.
The only thing I can think of is that yes we are kind of with an online agent (they do everything a high street one does but don't have a physical shop). But it has proper floor plans / professional photos etc. I think it's just a really slow market where we are and we should possibly have waited till spring. It's a bit disheartening though and fast running out of motivation to keep it neat and tidy etc!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 13/02/2017 20:41

Woohoo equimum!! Congratulations on selling 🎉🎉
Dh is drafting an end of contract letter as we speak.

drspouse · 13/02/2017 21:20

Hooray! My friend just texted me to say she had an alert for a house in our area... And it's ours. EA came back this morning to take a sunny outdoor shot.

All nosy people can PM me fine for a link.

Beckyb1 · 14/02/2017 07:30
