Did the removals men put porn DVDs in with my stuff?

We just moved house and I have been unpacking eleventy hundred boxes (where did all this stuff come from?). In with my personal items, in three separate boxes I found porn DVDs.

I know they're not mine!!!

A week before we moved I went through all my wardrobes and threw a whole bunch of stuff out - took loads to charity etc. What I am trying to say is if there had been porn DVDs in my bedroom I would have known about it.

I know what you're thinking... my husband right? But I showed him and he said they weren't his and if they were he would have just said. I 100% believe him because I'm kind of relaxed about that...

So... short of any other logical answer, could it have been the removals men playing a joke? There are 3 DVDs, all packed in different boxes. Surely if the removals men were packing "a stash" they would have packed them all together?

I'm kind of laughing but... if a bit creeped out at the same time.

DVDs? How retro. Doesn't everyone get their porn online these days?

legotits · 30/10/2016 13:15

Yeah it wouldn't be the obvious answer that DP had just forgot and rediscovered them hence shoving them in random boxes.

Course it's the movers Grin

PotOfYoghurt · 30/10/2016 13:18

Tell your DP that you're going to lodge a complaint with the removal company. His reaction should help.

WaxingNinja · 30/10/2016 13:20

But if it was the removal men, where's/what's the joke?

Of course it was your husband.

Maverickismywingman · 30/10/2016 13:22

Maybe the removers were also moving someone else's things, some items fell out and they put them in your box.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 30/10/2016 13:22

No. it's not much of a prank - they'd have to buy porn dvds, open boxes, stash them seperately, close boxes, lose the porn dvds and never know if it ever got a reaction.

They are DHs. Maybe he's forgotten them or those particular ones embarrass him or he prefers having secret porn even if you'd be okay with it, or they belonged to an old partner of his and he forgot he'd stashed them somewhere around the house.

Do you have kids or have you lodgers on the past ?

WatchingFromTheWings · 30/10/2016 13:31

I'm not sure why someone would want to go to the expense of buying the dvds and putting them in your stuff for a joke then not be around to see it kick off. Did you have any friends help pack who could have done it?

On the other hand I think if it was your husband he'd have probably stashed them together in amongst his own stuff or kept them close (in his car for example) if he was hiding them from you.

It's an odd one either way!

TheTantrumCometh · 30/10/2016 13:33

Bless you, it's your DH. The removal men wouldn't do this, for several reasons.

H1ghw4y61Revisited · 30/10/2016 17:41

Another vote for the husband here I'm afraid 😂 Or a friend of the family playing a prank. Definitely not the removal men though 😄

DearMrDilkington · 30/10/2016 17:46

That is weird.

I'm going to guess it's down to a sexually frustrated ghost that wants to welcome you to the new house.Grin

toopeoply · 30/10/2016 17:48

They are your husband's.

glitterandtinsel · 30/10/2016 17:50

Teenage son?
Why would the removal men do it? They can't stay to laugh at your horrified facial expression. What sort of porn was it, was it niche? Something to be embarrassed of. Like 'Mummy spanks naughty boys,' or 'Big boobed lady bouncing on trampolines.'

GirlOverboard · 30/10/2016 17:53

Who knows. I'd just bin them and forget about it. It's not really a big deal either way.

ticandtoc · 31/10/2016 14:00

yeah, weird one. I did threaten to contact the removal company to see how dh reacted... not a flicker. His only reaction was "The question is, are they any good?". :-)

yes, dvds a bit odd too... the weird thing was that they were in with my clothes, not with his and as I said i'd chucked a whole load of stuff out last week.

think it's best to forget it - hate not knowing though.

thanks for all your feedback. x

They might have been hidden under or behind furniture or something and come to light when the movers carried it away.

instantly · 01/11/2016 07:47

How old are your kids?

PinkiePiesCupcakes · 01/11/2016 07:53

Are they any good though?

Grin

I've also realised that I haven't watched a DVD, pornographic or otherwise, for years and years. This all about tubes and streaming now, porn or otherwise. Blush

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/11/2016 07:55

Th text really aren't the removal men's!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/11/2016 07:56

**they really aren't

DrDreReturns · 01/11/2016 08:10

pigletjohn's suggestion sounds the most likely.

FishyWishies · 01/11/2016 13:19

PigletJohn has the most likely explanation.
