Drighlington, Bradford, any MNers in this area?

DD and her DP are looking to buy in the Morley area and around and have seen what looks like a lovely place in Drighlington. Neither DD or her DP are from the area (both got jobs there) and would love some opinions of the area. DD is currently fancying Morley and her DP is open to anything really. Some local knowledge would be fab. TIA.

And what would the commute into stourton be like do you think?

One last bump before I give up.

I'm a Londoner but my husband is from Drighlington and we are in the process of buying a house there (we're currently renting in North Leeds). We've chosen Drighlington as we can't afford to buy where we are now and waned to be near my in-laws as we have one year old twin daughters.

Drighlington is a decent enough area, the centre is quite village-like with a pretty church, decent pub, doctors, Co-Op and a few restaurants (the vegetarian Indian, Prashad, is award winning and really fantastic). There's lots of open space on the moor too. As you move out of the centre there are a few estates, ranging from post-war council housing to 1970s semis to new builds. The bus route into Leeds is frequent and goes roughly every ten minutes, taking about half an hour. It's very well connected for the motorway as well, being right near the M621 and M62. A commute into Stourton would be straight forward but obviously the traffic will be heavy in rush hour. Where in Drighlington is the house they are looking at?

Morley is about a ten minute drive away and is a typical market town. It's got lots there but I would personally wouldn't choose to live there (apart from in the Dartmouth Park area which is beautiful). It feels quite "small town" to me (perhaps being from London) so didn't really appeal.

Definitely what I would class as the nicest end of Drighlington. It's actually semi-rural but about a ten minute walk from the pub/shop/doctors.

I know Drighlington too. It is on the Leeds/Bradford border with easy commuting into either.

Stourton is off the motorway and the other side of the city, so personally I would get on the M62 at junction 27 (about 5 minutes drive from Drig as it's known locally - off peak) and then come off at Stourton, which is not an area to live in and heavily industrialised with rough housing.

2 really good fish n chip shops in Drig too

I prefer Drighlington to Morley, also have a look at parts of New Farnley which are between Drighlington and the city and also semi rural.

I know its been a while since this was posted on but also looking to move to this area...could anyone recommend nursery/ child minder please? Thanks all!

@northernsquirrel Kaleidoscope nursery in the village is great! There's a few childminders (Jayne Stringer and Claire Allen are popular) but they rarely have availability from what I know.
