I've tried Annie Sloane in the past but found the finish very uneven (it just dried soooo quickly).
I just want a decent paint to refresh some old kitchen chairs.
Thanks.

isnt the uneven finish due mostly to the level of skill? You could also consider spray paint as that can look super even if done properly.

Oh yes, skill level is relatively low Grin but also I didn't find it lasted very well either (wore off in used places).

I found the Annie Sloane stuff runbish, as was the Rustoleum. It made my kitchen chairs tacky.
B and Q have a good selection of their own furniture paint or there's Ronseal. I've also used Valspar spray paint for furniture.

Long before chalk paint I always used Satin Matt for wood, and still do
most makes have it in a wide range of colours.
