When it rains there's wet soot everywhere... Should I be worried?!

Lots of rain tonight and it's rained wet soot everywhere. I'm worried that it's wet... Some soot fell down last week but it was all dry...

In very heavy rain wet soot used to come down the chimney in my old house. It's a nuisance because if you don't catch it right away it makes a mess (I used to put an old towel in the hearth), but it's nothing serious.
But, if you haven't had your chimney swept for a while it's a good idea to get it done.

It was definitely very very heavy rain tonight that's for sure! I was just worried as the chimney sweep who was here last said that if anything is wet then it's something to worry about. It's never been wet before but maybe I can just put it down to the rain and nothing serious!!
