What sort of money are we looking at for a packing and removals service?

I'm trying to get quotes at the moment, but wondered about ball park figures.

We are only moving a mile, 3 bed house to 3 bed house. I'm very tempted by the packing services, but how much more are they? We've been quote around £500 for just a move at the moment. We're in Yorkshire if that helps at all.

I paid £420 for exactly that move but did own packing. In London

The quotes we had were about 50% of the move cost. Our move next week is £900 (three bed town house going 40 miles) including boxes, but packing would have been another £450.

3bed terrace to 5bed terrace, 250m away (!) £1500. Worth every single penny Grin

We paid around £700 to remove, £200 for packing and £600 for delivery.
A bit vague, sorry, because storage costs were also involved. In all we moved 4 bed house 7 miles, in the Midlands.

Sounds a bargain. We had a full company move for £6000. I just gave them the keys. It included a stay in a hotel and two trucks for a sixty mile journey.

We did exact same move very recently - also Yorkshire, 3 bed to nearby 3 bed. Cost around £1k in total, £700 for move and £300 extra for packing. Packing service worth every penny. Removals guys were amazing.

Just got a quote from Pickford's 150 packing 900 moving so 1150 in total, moving 3 miles down the road for a very full 1 bed flat to a 3 bed house in herts. No access issues.

Simply removals quoted 565 all in for the same.

In general packing seems to be about 200 more from the companies I have seen.

Good luck get a lot of quotes

2 bed terrace to 4 bed detached, 5 miles. £1200. Worth every penny.

I paid £450 for packing of a two bed terrace, and £1,600 to deliver from London to Liverpool, was slightly less than normal as it went into storage first.

The packing was worth every penny and more. Having done it I'd never move again without a packing service. Only downside is the amount of paper and bubble wrap you have to get rid of when you unpack.

I just moved, 200 miles, 4 bedroom houses. £1900, they packed, worth every single penny.
