WDYD when you've completed and vendors are still in?

So we've finally completed on our property. We're waiting to get the keys but vendors are saying there is an issue with their removal service and can't move out today. Solicitor says they have to. They say they can't. Literally what do you do?

Actually I had had a bit of wine , but it was true I told a tenant to start packing and embarrassed them into moving out so as not to inconvenience the new tenants. I just felt it was really unfair they were dragging other people into their problems. And I did empty the fridge as it was my fridge from the moment they stopped renting it!! We got a sob story about how they didn't realise you had to move out before the end of your tenancy and how they thought you moved out the day after your tenancy ended - yeah right. This from professional people in their 30s who had been quick enough to move in just after signing their own tenancy agreement!
