your ideas to fill a small gap between my garage and house behind's fence

There's a gap between my garage and the house behind's fence. This means their little angels keep wandering into my garden, despite being told by me and their mum not to. The gap is about 1 and 1/2 feet wide. On the one side is a brick wall (my garage) and the other a timber fence (my fence). It's at the back of my garage, so whilst I don't want it to be unduly ugly, I'll never have to see it. What can I put up that's cheap and easy, and keep uninvited visitors out? I've checked with the land registry, it's not a boundary I'm responsible for, so will erect it on my land. That way, if the lady behind prefer to continue her fence to my garage wall in her own time, she's free to do so.

A pyracantha plant? They are spiky though. What about some reed screening attached to the garage and the fence?

Its a bit narrow for even a pyracantha plant, and would never be seen, and can't be easily accessed, so maybe not a bad idea. Reed screening isnt a bad idea - do you think this would stop their children from coming into my garden - couldn't they just peel this back or do I nail it really firmly and securely in place?

Fix it in place - nailed to their fence and screwed to your garage wall.

The other think you could do is put a tall container heavily weighted/filled up with pebbles to make it difficult to move and a potted something bushy wedged in the top.

Once you start doing more or looking at other alternatives it gets more expensive.

A bit of that trellis you put on the top of fencing on its side attached by a couple of batons ?

Thanks - I'll try that - I like bamboo reeds too - even if it is my neighbours that get to see it.

I did think of a pot weighted with pebbles, but wanted something a little more permanent.
