Sofa reupholstery in central London - Ligne Roset

I have a 10+ year old sofa that is getting threadbare on the seat of the sofa that needs reupholstering. Any suggestions? I've got in touch with a few places but no one that has experience of Ligne Roset got back to me - all those with that sort of experience wanted us to ship the sofa to Europe to have it done! Not happening.

Can anyone suggest/recommend any reupholsters in London? We are ideally looking for someone to come and do it at ours as the sofa is just so huge.

Thanks so much.

Did you ever find a reupholster? I have a 10+ year old Ligne Roset Togo that has seen better days. I am keen to clean or possibly recover - although I remember when I purchased it, they said neither was possible.

The only firm I found was in Europe and they charge as much to recover as I paid for the sofa new!

Although not a cheap option!

I had a Ligne Roset sofa recovered about 4 years ago - it was about 10 yrs old then. I wasn't incredibly well researched and found someone online who basically came to the house measured it and returned with the fabric cut, sewn and ready to replace the existing fabric. Strictly speaking this was a recovering rather than a reupholstering. I think the all in cost was about £1700 but more than half the cost was the fabric. Overall I'm pleased with it - the sofa definitely doesn't look it's age although the fabric does sag a little but that could be because it's tweed rather than the workmanship. I can post the guy's email if you like.

Hi there, would you be able to post the details of the guy that came to re-cover your Ligne Roset sofa? I haven’t had any luck finding anyone, and you seem quite happy with the service you received... Would LOVE his details please!

Thank you :)

Hi there, I would be interested in the details of the person who fixed your old ploum sofa, any chance you could share them again please? Nee

John Hitch in North London reupholstered my Togo chair in Leather for £700. www.johnhitchseating.co.uk/
The leather was offcuts from a project he did for seating in BA First class, so was quite cheap considering.

Hi Ruby. Would it be possible to post a few pics of your reupholstered Togo chair? I am considering getting mine done but have heard that most upholsterers won’t touch them! Thanks

I'm in the trade OP and I'd be incredibly suspicious of anyone who would re-upholster anything in your home.

Doesn't matter what make it is or how big - it got into your home so it can get out again.

Kate Broome did a fantastic job on my ligne roset but I can’t seem to find her website anymore. Otherwise I emailed ligne roset upstairs at Heals and they gave me a list of recommended reupholsters

Alexis89 · 29/08/2021 19:12

Thanks! Was it a Togo sofa that she reupholstered? Pls could you post some pics?

Agree with this

Just because it’s a ligne roset doesn’t mean a normal upholsterer couldn’t do it

Lots of specialist upholsterers in the south east who could do this
