Which is the better area to live canonbury or barnsbury (Islington) is their much difference?..

Any other nice areas in Islington?

There isn't a lot of difference. Both are mainly lovely (and very expensive) Georgian houses, with a few council estates in there too.

The area between Essex Road and the canal is also very nice, and so is the area around Highbury Fields. Also the area just south of Angel around Myddleton Square.

They are both nice but as ever in inner London check the immediate area closely.

I agree with mini pie about other nice areas.

Do you have kids? Are you thinking about schools?

I prefer Barnsbury. You won't get any change out of £2m for a normal terraced house. Or if you have even more money buy in a nice Georgian square there.

The reason why I like Barnsbury more is that easy walk to Angel, Highbury and Islington (if you live between the two) and not too far from kings cross.

Barnsbury square is lovely, also Gibson square or hemingford road. But I think you would need £3m for a really nice house there.

Hope this helps. I know nothing about school but if you live there, the trip to Hampstead/Highgate is not too bad.

We don't know enough about what's important to you. If it were me choosing between those two I'd do barnsbury as it's close to all the amazing new kings cross developments, but then again we sold our Georgian town house there because we didn't like the floor plan. Canonbury is a little further out as far as transport goes but much the same. Agree with points raised by pp

Around Canonbury square and Highbury Fields is lovely. On the West side of the fields there is also Drayton Park which is a quick train ride straight into Moorgate which is v v handy if you work in the City

Hi everyone. Iam looking to move to Canonbury, around Clephane road . I have a small child aged 5. Is it safe to live around there? And any suggestions for good primary schools 😘
