Hello everyone,
We are planning to move to Grantham, Lincolnshire in summer. Currently looking for a house to buy. I know nothing about Grantham.
I would appreciate information from anyone who lives there or knows about the area. Where is the best place to buy a house in view of raising young kids 11 and 8yrs. Son has got admission in kings grammar school.

Thank you!

Barrowby is a lovely place to live , just on the outskirts of Grantham and yet seems a million miles away sometimes . I can't comment on your other place as don't know really know it. Also look at William Robertson school which has transport from Grantham. If you don't mind me asking what sort of problems does your youngest have , if it is a learning disability then Grantham has 2 excellent schools rated outstanding that are special needs ones .

I live near Lincoln and work near Sleaford. Lincolnshire is a lovely place to be, a -lot- little sleepy but I love that. I don't know Grantham particularly well, but have friends in Barrowby and it's a very nice village.

I don't mind you asking Smile.

His issues are behavioural unfortunately. He's got a lot better, and was signed off at Christmas by behavioural support who were visiting him at school, but he had another outburst and hurt his brother in the playground a couple of weeks ago.

I don't think it helps that we've had a series of short term nannies, followed by one for the last year who whilst very nice has no clue how to control or discipline the children.

If we moved up north then we would be able to afford for me to give up work so that he had more stability.

Unfortunately Barrowby school have told me that they are full in all years and have a waiting list already. Sad

Thats a pain, I am a bit out of touch with regards to primary schools , although I do know that there are 2 private primary schools in area .

I am trying for a place in National C 0 E primary school for my daughter , 8yrs old, purely based on feasibility for pick and drop. as my son will be going to kings school. Just came across a horrible one star comment by someone, while i was searching for the OFSTEd report. OFSTED is good though. Would appreciate some more information if anyone knows about this school?

I've been looking at property in Grantham with a hope to relocate from North Wales, later on this year... Grantham looks idyllic, it looks like a lovely town for everything including shopping. It's such a shame reading these comments.
