URGENT! Telford and the surrounding area for a single 20 something (not me!!)

Just a very quick ask as I'm currently compiling listings and need to send it off by the end of today:
I'm looking for a house in the Telford area, on behalf of a Spanish guy in his late 20's. Having not been there for well over a decade and living at the other end of the country, I have no idea of the area.
He is reluctant to live in Telford itself, but seems to think that Wolverhampton is a better option. I am not convinced as he needs good rail links (under 40 mins travel door-to door is preferable - he has a 5-10 min walk on arrival at telford) due to lack of a car and if memory served Wolverhampton isn't the most dynamic of places. I am more than happy to be corrected on that.
Ideally the location he ends up needs to have a good young feel to it and not be too expensive. I would imagine 1-2 bed furnished flat/house for under £700 a month would suit him best.
Enormous thanks in advance!

just to clarify, I don't actually need to find a house, just the sort of areas in which that sort of price is attainable.

Shrewsbury? Easy and regular train service to Telford (20mins).
A one bed flat easy to find for around 500pm.
Plenty going on, and very pretty.

definitely Shrewsbury! Pubs, clubs, history, character, transport, river, country nearby. And even a direct service to London now.

not many places are rented furnished though. However he can sort that at the charity shops.

thank you so much. I prefer Shrewsbury personally, but I have no idea what this guy actually wants in a location! Did a bit of house porning whilst I was searching - there are some seriously lovely places in the surrounding areas! Oh how I love an afternoon dreaming on rightmove - I can't believe how reasonable this is www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29849484.html there is a similar house about 5 miles away from where I live that is £2m more!!

Definitely Shrewsbury. I'm currently in Telford and I'd've been terribly depressed if I'd landed in Telford in my 20s! We're only here for another year or so fortunately, but it's awful.

However, neither Shrewsbury or Telford can really be called dynamic but at least there's a young contingent in Shrewsbury who appear to have a few brain cells. It also has a good social scene.

And Telford has no 'centre' as such - just a shopping centre with a few new chain restaurants recently built next to it. Shrewsbury... definitely.
