I need to order the bathroom fixtures and I know nothing, HELP PLEASE!!

So our loft conversion is ticking along nicely and now I need to order the fixtures for the bathroom............I know nothing about bathrooms, please help!

I know we want a walk in shower like this

And a shower like this

And a heated towel rail, with a white toilet and a sink with some storage but I don't know what brands are good, what to avoid, what extractor fan is good.

ANY help is much appreciated

a toilet is pretty much a toilet - but I'm learning that the push button flushes on the top have a limited life. Look for an easily removeable seat for cleaning.

a sink should have space round the edges to put things on and no frilly/flouncy dirt traps. The bowl sinks that sit on worktops are huge dirt traps. Don't make your life difficult.

Thermostatic mixer for the shower. Our lord and saviour Piglet John will insist that it should not be recessed into the wall or have sharp / pointy corners. Look at Aqualisa.

pop up wastes leak. Get plugs. Captive ones if you like gimmicks.

Cheese is right about shower mixers.

Bristan taps are excellent, and you can get replacement parts for them if you are young and live long enough for them to wear out.

Chrome is harder wearing that any other finish for taps.

I see you linked to a bar shower. For some reason, even when made by a good maker, they are not as dependable as round mixers. The round Aqualisa thermostatic mixer mechanism is the best I know.

Have you got a hot water cylinder? What colour?

No, we've got a combi boiler sadly. Inherited with the house. Is there a particular Aqualisa shower that's good with a combi boiler?

Will look at Bristan taps

Dont go to Victoria Plum (voice of experience)
Ideal standard are worth the money ( also voice of experience)
Sinks with half pedestal or no pedestal make for easier cleaning

Get a wall hung loo as it really easy to clean the floor underneath it . Buy the best taps you can as they will last for years ,ours are still going strong after 17 years.

We recently got a wide vanity unit with a full width basin + extra space on top, it's great

Obv there are loads like this, but the basin plus space either side works really well. They come in different widths & storage configurations too
FWIW we have a 17-year-old cheap Italian thermostatic shower which still works perfectly (although the shiny top of the on/off knob broke off years ago)

How do bathstore hold up against the competitors? I'm finding designing it really tough so need advise and there is one locally

I find Plumbworld good for taps, showers and other components. If you put "clearance" into their search box, you might find bargains you didn't know you needed. "Architekt" is their cheap own-brand, but they sell upmarket stuff too.

Yeah I've found some good shower bits on there.

I like the sinks that have storage units attached but worried about what colour it would be.

There's no reason I can't pick and chose where I buy bits from is there?
