How much would it cost to have a lino floor laid in small bathroom?

We are currently renting but at a hugely reasonable monthly cost, we feel the floorboards in the bathroom are suffering at the moment so we are looking to put lino down.
We are happy to pay for this ourselves as the rent has never been raised but I have no idea what it's likely to cost...any ideas?

The floorboards will need hardboard or marine ply putting down first to give a smooth flat surface otherwise the impression of the boards will show through quite quickly - it's not an expensive job. Then it's the cost of vinyl and fitting. A lot of fitters will have a minimum charge - near us in the NW it's around £70. Although most bathrooms are on the small side, cutting round things to fit is quite fiddly.

Agree it would be a minimum charge scenario, it's a really small job. Around here, you might have trouble finding a tradeperson who could be bothered to do it and might have to resort to Carpetright or the like. Saying that, your LL might have a relationship with an 'odd job man' who would do it if you supply the materials. It's quite an easy DIY job if you have some basic tools.

We just paid £228 to have a small bathroom and our kitchen fitted with lino; that included ply in the bathroom and feather edging in both. That was with quite fiddly templating too, as we have a bonkers-shaped kitchen. So your cost should come in a good bit less than that!

We resorted to Carpetright a couple of years ago and paid nearly £200. (They did a crap job, though.)

My local carpet fitter costs £50. The floor has to be perfect though.

Just had our small bathroom done,it was £230 including fitting. Our builder had already boarded it first though.

We did our own about £25 for the Lino (b n m have got good choice) and about £4 for can of adhesive spray. Best way to go about it if you can do it yourself is to find a local handyman or someone you know and go and get materials yourself. You need to have decent floor underneath or put some plywood down.

We paid £95 to have our bathroom floor done last year. We used a highly regarded local shop, not part of a large chain.

Thank you all. We have been quoted £180 by carpet right.
Still not heard from the independent shop so I will call them.
We can't do it ourselves, it's bare floorboards at the moment and I would mess it up!
