Anyone ever heard of or used this kitchen company?

Found a local kitchen shop called Kitchen Dynamics which has given us some brochures and asked us to see what we liked and then book an appointment to meet with their designer.

They seem to have a range of budget kitchen from Colonial Kitchens (company based in SE Lancashire) & their Premium range of Kitchens is Gallery by Symphony (a South Yorkshire based company).

Since it is a local independent kitchen supplier/designer, i am hoping it will cost less, get a more personalized service and have the new kitchen fitted in 4 weeks.

Trouble is, i have never heard of them and neither have anyone i know - neither the Kitchen supplier or the kitchen manufacturers. I do like some of their designs.

Should I go ahead and fix an appointment for kitchen designer or wait to find out more about them before finalizing them?

Has anyone heard of any of them or used them to fit their kitchens? if so could you share your experiences - be they positive or negative.

look them up at Companies House. See if there have been companies with similar names and the same directors that have previously gone bust. Use the gov.uk site and not one of the parasites.

Also look up their address on Streetview and see if it seems to be a real business with offices, yard, warehouse and vans.

There are some real rogues in the kitchens business, including at least one who has been to prison and is still trading.

They aren't anywhere near Manchester, Oldham or Bury, are they?

Are you saying that the manufacturers of the kitchens which they are apparently selling have never heard of them?? Do you have to use this company, have they got designs which particularly appeal to you?

I've done a bit of digging for you - Colonial Kitchens are made by J&J Ormerod plc. Two things bother me about them: 1. their 2015 accounts haven't been filed in time (within 6 months of financial year end) although they have been filed and are being processed by Companies House; 2. they don't have a company secretary and look not to have had one since the last one resigned in 2010. By law a plc must have a company secretary. They can be fined for late filing and I don't know how they are getting away with bot having one. There is no company secretary named on the last annual return btw so it's not a recent development. It's the duty of the board of directors to appoint one.

Symphony's corporate governance is better by the look of things.

Symphony are fine, they are based in Rotherham. We have been dealing with them for a few years. They do bathrooms too. Totally legitimate as a company. Got a couple of their kitchens going up in our new showroom as we speak. PM me if you like. Not touting for business either lol
