Good news house selling/ buying stories after a hard time

I need some positive thoughts so would like to hear other people's good news please!

We have had our house on the market since May and want to move to a larger one, nearer work for DH and I.

In the first week, we got an offer and were able to make an offer on dream house, which was accepted. Unfortunately, our buyer dropped out and dream house got sold to someone else.

We found others we liked, none as much, but houses we could make work, but no further offers on ours despite a reasonable number of viewings.

Two weeks ago, we got a call from Dream house agents. They'd lost their buyer. We saw the house again. It's still perfect.

We got an offer on ours yesterday. Lower than we really need, but got them up to what is probably their limit and is reasonable for the house. So we have offered on dream house. It's 2K less than the final offer last time but the maximum we can do with the lower offer on ours. We won't know till Monday.

I don't know if I can wait a whole day! So please help me with tales of success!

Found my dream house sold mine for great price, offer accepted on dream house but next day they took it off market. Apparently it was a divorcing couple and she wanted to sell he wanted to buy her out. In the next three months lost two houses we liked (but not dream) to other buyers had an offer accepted then seller (old lady) pulled out. We stopped took ours off market felt awful as ppl buying ours had waited three months in a rising market in SE. Cried for a week then started looking further afield and bingo found lovely huge house (nearly bloody derelict). Put ours back on market (original buyers gone elsewhere) sold it in two days surveys all done ready to exchange but oh wait! Our lovely new home (derelict hovel with gorgeous garden) was actually subject to probate so couldn't exchange. More tears nail biting few weeks emergency probate granted exchanged moved and totally in love with new home and new town. Most stressful awful experience but am now mortgage free in a stunning new home and might do it again next year. Good luck I drive past the others houses we nearly bought/thought were dream and feel sorry for the ppl that bought them

well i had my buyer pull out because they lost their buyer, but they sold again a few weeks later but offered me 1K less ( my house is in the 240 range if you wondering what it was as a percentage). We just presumed it was because they were offered less and were trying to make it work so we accepted it knowing they were very keen. So hopefully your dream house will come back with good news tomorrow

We put our house on the market to try and get a house we really liked on a road we loved. We sold our house in a week ready to make an offer but our offer (£26k over asking price ) wasn't accepted

Took a chance viewing a house that had been on the market a while (wondering why, most things here sell on opening weekend). Liked it but it wasn't love (1960s house, pretty ugly), and had our offer of £5k under asking price accepted.

Now we've moved in I love this house so much! The rooms are fantastic sizes, it's lovely inside now we've given it a good scrub and filled it with our things. It's got so much potential too. The garden looks lovely now we've tidied it up too. Just needs a lick of paint outside to make it look better (plus a new front door).

I think this is a much better house for our money than the one we wanted.

Thought I'd update. Offers were accepted last week and solicitors have been instructed.

We're beginning to believe this might actually happen! I'm starting to think about schools and removals quotes.

Woohoo! Fingers crossed for you, I'm hoping to move this Friday but still waiting every day for exchange, but I'm staying positive x

Having a tense week. Buyers' (FTB) solicitor has sent a huge list of odd enquiries raised from the survey. Nothing actually to worry about (house is 40 years old and is priced accordingly) but we're really concerned that it might scare the buyers off. Our solicitor is annoyed as he thinks the surveyor is just covering himself, but the buyers might not see it that way.

I put my place on the market 2 years ago and it sold within 24 hours to a buyer the agents had on their waiting list . I realised the price was too low.
I therefore withdrew. I put it on the market again last year. Again I sold wihin 24 hours -with 3 offers over the asking price.

I feel your pain, belinda. We have just moved house after a quick sale (over asking price) but a long, drawn out period up to exchange of contracts while our first time buyers explores every tiny thing mentioned in the homebuyer report. If didn't help that their solicitor was utterly shit and made mountains out of molehills.

We got there in the end though and finally moved last week and it has all been worth it as we love our new house. Hang in there.
