What flooring for playroom/family room extension with wet underfloor heating?

Builder suggested tiles but not sure... cold when the heating not on, very unforgiving on children's heads etc.

What do you have?

we have tiles with a car mat down. kids are 5+ though

i love my tiles - lovely and cool in the summer and lovely and warm in the winter. wipe clean easily

There are lots of pros for tiles! I do feel the cold so easily though!

In our last house we used engineered oak wood flooring - real wood but with layers running in different directions to stop movement and it was fine. It had a bit of bounce but it did dent and you have to accept that it will age.
We also had slate in the kitchen which was great but much harder.

Exactly the same dilemma for us...we're going for a laminate with a thin underlay to make sure the heat transfers well

I got some of the Harvey Maria stuff in their sale, which saved a fortune, so worth keeping your eyes peeled.

It's vinyl (I call it posh lino) that seems really warm underfoot. My parents have amtico, and after 15 years in a sunroom, it still looks amazing, which is what won me over to the world of vinyl. I also run a catering business from hoime, and the ease of cleaning is a big plus.

Karndean / Amtico is what I'd have.

We have tiles and engineered wood with our wet UFH but our children are much older. We have Karndean Art Select in the bathrooms and it is fab.

We have Amtico over wet underfloor heating plus we have a small area of Harvey Maria (using up some old tiles in the utility). The Amtico feels warmer to me.

It is warm, things don't break. It looks cool and urban and modern (so we think!!). You do need to look after it a bit like a wooden floor as things can stain it (quite porous) but you can buff it up with the special products and it looks really glossy and different.

We have Karndean and it's lovely. There's no way I would have tiles with small dc.
